I recently changed the car battery and now notice that occasionally my car rattles a little then automatically shifts to neutral while at a red light, drive thru etc. Additionally, occasionally when parked with engine still running, my rattles a little and car shuts off. When this happens it displays the battery and oil light. I start it back up with no problem. I’ve taken it to the dealership and I’m told nothing is wrong with the car. This makes me feel unsafe while driving.

If the car thinks the door is not fully closed, it will not allow the car to go into drive. My husband put the car into reverse and backed out onto a busy highway. I started to have an issue with the driving experience recently. I took it in to my closet dealer and they stated that the problem was the rotors being warped from driving and braking then that I would have to pay for the replacement rotors and brakes, but it’s impossible and the mileage shows. I LIVE IN COLORADO AND USE PADDLE DOWN SHIFT TO GEAR DOWN FOR SLOWING ON DECLINES. WHEN I DO THAT, THE CAR ACELERARES FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE SLOWING DOWN. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE SLOWING TO AVOID RUNNING INTO THE CAR IN FRONT AND INSTEAD YOU INCREASING SPEED TOWARD THE BACK OF THE CAR IN FRONT. Both headlights cracked identically and simultaneously, which rules out accidental damage. Acura corporate has denied a goodwill repair, classifying this as normal wear and tear.
