Owner report 11425098 · 2021-07-16 (July 16, 2021)

After approx. 15,000 miles on the odometer applying the brakes at highway speed to slow the car down the steering wheel shakes, went to the dealership they said the front brake rotors are warped. Also when traveling at highway speed around 70 mph with strong wind the hood of the car shakes as if it is not latched, stopped vehicle and checked that the hood is properly latched and it was, I am concerned that one time the hood will come unlatched as I am driving. Dealer said that was a normal like other Acura TLX of the same year.

Owner report 11479316 · 2022-08-15 (August 15, 2022)

After coming to a stop at a red light, the vehicle engine turned off as designed with auto start stop. When the light turned green, the vehicle temporarily restarted when I released the brake pedal, but immediately stalled and would not restart. This is a major safety concern as I was on a four lane road with traffic all around and I was unable to move. I had place the vehicle into park, turn off the ignition fully, and attempt to restart the car. It eventually restarted, but it took nearly 90 seconds. This is a danger to myself, and to …

This caused the vehicle to brake unexpectedly while driving through a construction zone on highway 45. My engine has stopped and stalled in the middle of traffic on multiple occasions. The issue is related to the fuel pump recall. Acura states that the parts for the recalls are available, yet when you contact an Acura dealership, none of them have the parts! HOWEVER, EVEN AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE, IT STALLED AGAIN ON JUNE 12TH, 2019. IT LOOKS LIKE EITHER A NEW ISSUE OR THEIR SOFTWARE UPDATE DID NOT FIX IT. THERE IS ALSO A POSSIBILITY OF THE UPDATED SOFTWARE HAVING NEW BUGS. IN MY CAR, THE ISSUE COULD BE WITH THE COMPUTER, OR OTHER ELECTRONICS …

I started to have an issue with the driving experience recently. I took it in to my closet dealer and they stated that the problem was the rotors being warped from driving and braking then that I would have to pay for the replacement rotors and brakes, but it’s impossible and the mileage shows. I LIVE IN COLORADO AND USE PADDLE DOWN SHIFT TO GEAR DOWN FOR SLOWING ON DECLINES. WHEN I DO THAT, THE CAR ACELERARES FOR A FEW SECONDS BEFORE SLOWING DOWN. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE YOU ARE SLOWING TO AVOID RUNNING INTO THE CAR IN FRONT AND INSTEAD YOU INCREASING SPEED TOWARD THE BACK OF THE CAR IN FRONT. ACURA CUSTOMER SERVICE SAY THAT IS THE WAY THE CAR IS DESIGNED, BUT DOES NOT DEFEND THE LOGIC OF THAT DESIGN. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT THIS HAS NOT CAUSED SERIOUS SITUATIONS AND ACCIDENTS.

I've received the recall notice for my car about 2 years ago. I've tried to schedule time with the dealership to get it fixed but they just keep telling me they don't have the parts or I have to wait till something "bad" happens first for them to prioritize me. This seems really unsafe and bad practice. I've reached out to Honda and they have open a case to review this but has not gotten back to me since. 2 1/2 years before the current connecting rod bearing recall, my engine failed due to the connecting rod bearing at 53,000 miles. After fighting with Acura for almost a year, they agreed to replace the motor. However, when I picked it up, they had only rebuilt the motor. Now that motor's rod has failed at 68,000 miles and they refuse to replace the motor. They say it doesn't have anything to do with the connecting rod bearing but it is knocking with a thrown rod.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

My car has started to jerk. I called the dealership where I got it from and they told me that if it didn't jerk in there possession there is nothing they could do. It's a 2020 and it has a little over 28k miles on it. There are 2 open recalls on my vehicle, but my specific vin isn't affected. I don't know what else to do .
