Recall history

7 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

19V734000 · Electrical System:Wiring:Fuses And Circuit Breakers | Electrical System:Wiring

Reported: 2019-10-16 (October 16, 2019) · Model years: 2019, 2020

Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Atlas motorhomes. The SH1 Breaker Terminal may be wired incorrectly, causing some of the 12V circuits to have insufficient overcurrent protection.

Consequence: Incorrectly fused wires may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Airstream will notify owners, and dealers will correct the wiring, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began November 15, 2019. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111, extension 7401 or 7411.

23V772000 · Equipment:Other:Labels

Reported: 2023-11-17 (November 17, 2023) · Model years: 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Interstate 19, Interstate 24, Interstate 24X, Rangeline and Atlas motorhomes. The Federal Certification Label and Tire Placard may indicate incorrect tire pressure and tire size. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Consequence: Incorrect tire information can result in under-inflated tires or installing the incorrect-size tires, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Airstream will mail corrected labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 15, 2023. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.

20V391000 · Suspension:Multiple Axle

Reported: 2020-07-02 (July 2, 2020) · Model years: 2020, 2021

Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain model year 2020-2021 Airstream Atlas and Interstate motorhomes equipped with VB suspension systems. The lock portion of the countersink bolts attaching the VB Suspension system to the vehicle may be too long preventing the panhard rod bracket from fully contacting the springs, resulting in bolts absorbing the load instead of the bracket.

Consequence: If the bolts carry the load rather than the bracket, it can cause them to break, affecting the vehicle handling and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Airstream will notify owners, and dealers will replace the suspension bolts, free of charge. This recall began August 26, 2020. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505.

Reported: 2022-08-08 (August 8, 2022) · Model years: 2021, 2022

Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Basecamp, Bambi, Atlas, Interstate, and Interstate 19 travel trailers equipped with certain 2-burner cooktops. The burner control valves may become damaged, causing a gas leak.

Consequence: A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect, and if necessary replace the cooktop, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 7, 2022. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.

Reported: 2023-03-01 (March 1, 2023) · Model years: 2021, 2022, 2023

Airstream Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Basecamp, Bambi, Atlas, and Interstate travel trailers, equipped with certain SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktops. The internal aluminum burner tubes that connect to the gas valves may fracture and cause a gas leak.

Consequence: A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will install a regulator support bracket, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed April 29, 2023. Owners may contact Airstream Customer Service at 877-596-6111 (Travel Trailer ext. 7491) or (Touring Coach ext. 7401).

23V327000 · Electrical System

Reported: 2023-05-05 (May 5, 2023) · Model years: 2023

Airstream, Inc (Airstream) is recalling certain 2023 Atlas motorhomes. The 16-gauge branch wires may be under protected by a 20-amp fuse, which could allow the wiring to overheat in the event of a short circuit.

Consequence: Wiring that overheats can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the 20-amp fuse with a 5-amp fuse, and install a new circuit, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 29, 2023. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.

24V314000 · Equipment:Electrical:Accessory Generator

Reported: 2024-05-03 (May 3, 2024) · Model years: 2023, 2024

Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Atlas motorhomes. The generator may have been installed without a heat shield, which can expose the subflooring to excessive heat.

Consequence: Flooring material exposed to heat increases the risk of fire and injury.

Remedy: Dealers will install the heat shield above the generator, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 6, 2024. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at [email protected], 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-611 ext. 7401.

I am the owner of a 2020 Airstream Atlas motorhome (VIN [XXX] ). The vehicle has a recurring and unresolved slide-out defect that presents a serious safety hazard. While driving at highway speeds, the slide-out repeatedly disengaged and extended approximately 2–3 inches, triggering alarms and forcing me to pull over multiple times to reset the system. This occurred on numerous occasions during a long trip and posed a danger to myself and other motorists. The slide-out defect was documented previously under the prior owner at low mileage and wa…

Adaptive cruise control turns all Advanced Driver Assistance Systems if it does not sense that there is a vehicle ahead for a period of approx. 45 minutes. The system completely shuts down and cannot be reset manually. After approx. 45 minutes the system turns back on. This happened to me 4 times as I drove across the US. Not have any Advances Driver Assistance Systems operating for a period of 45 minutes is highly dangerous. Apparently there is a fix but it is not currently recognized by Mercedes.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison
