Under certain condition's the vehicle will stop running without warning. More specifically, when the outside temperature is hot, combined with a fuel level which is at or below 1/4 but not empty, the car will quit running. It has resulted in my being stranded along the roadside 4 times, and one time in particular I was stuck in the middle of a single lane road which presented a significant risk. The will not restart despite adequate gas being present in the gas tank. The car will eventually restart after it has been allowed to cool down. I…

I WAS ADVISED BY THE ALFA ROMEO DEALERSHIP THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WILL NEED REPLACEMENT, WHILE THE FRONT BRAKES ARE FINE. THIS OCCURRED AT 31,500 MILES. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP, THIS IS COMMON AND REAR BRAKES ON THIS CAR TYPICALLY NEED REPLACEMENT AT 20,000 MILES. ALFA'S CUSTOMER SERVICE CONFIRMED THIS. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT THIS IS RELATED TO THE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE. IN MY OPINION, THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS A TYPICAL DRIVER DOES NOT EXPECT BRAKE REPLACEMENT AFTER SUCH A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. IF THIS IS RELATED TO THE…

2018 GIULIA QV BUT IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP IN PENSACOLA FOR OVER 7 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT WHAT'S WRONG. UNDER ACCELERATION AND LEFT HAND TURNS THE SERVICE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE LIGHTS UP AS WELL AS VARIOUS OTHER LIGHTS. WHAT'S SCARY IS THE POWER STEERING TEMPORARILY STOPS, YANKING THE WHEEL HARD RIGHT AND I HAVE TO MUSCLE IT TO KEEP IT FROM RUNNING OFF THE ROAD. NOTHING SHORT OR DANGEROUS. I HAVE HAD A CASE OPEN WITH ALFA CARES AND HAVE TRIED TO ESCALATE WITH NO RESULT.

Temporarily loas power steering (or so it seemed) during highway speed driving. The car steering wheel jerked in my hands and an ATV fault code illuminated on the dash. I managed to keep the car in control, but it required a lot of physical effort. I was decelerating when it happened (brakes were being applied).

The vehicle intermittently fails to start or stop when using the Start/Stop push button. This is a critical safety concern. If the vehicle cannot be reliably started or stopped, and its ignition system operates unpredictably, it may fail during use, in traffic, or fail to respond in emergency scenarios. The issue appears electrical/software-related and is not resolved after multiple service attempts and over 45 days out of service.

The vehicle has a CEL, takes longer than normal to start and shakes at idle. It has also lost motive power while idling and stalled a few times while on the road. Alfa Romeo Giulia (and Stelvio) models have an exposed powertrain ground strap under the vehicle body. Because of the exposed position of the ground strap it is prone to corrosion which causes the fine wire braid of the ground strap to become brittle and break. Breaking of the strands of wire is further accelerated due to the acute 90 degree bend in the ground strap routing resulting in wire fatigue. When the ground strap fails it is typical the vehicle may not start. With continued attempts to start, alternate grounding paths may be soug…

I noticed his vehicle slowed downs drastically and within 4 seconds he was on left shoulder and stalled completely and would not stop. The vehicle went from 70-40-20-0 all in 4 seconds. Something very similar happened back in May of 2022. The Alfa Romeo dealer replaced the fuel pump in September/October of 2022. Stalling happened again yesterday. Has occured 3 times since I bought it three years ago. A dealer did read the code for fuel pump. Could not reproduce at the service center. Car has not been inspected by manufacturer or poli…

When driving on a road, with speeds around 30mph, the car was failing to accelerate. The car had a warning "service electric throttle control". The car proceeded to have engine failure and stall at lower speeds when coming to a stop sign & when coming to a red light. This was a safety hazard, car turned off and was put in neutral when it should have stayed in drive. Other cars present on the road around, car could not accelerate in a busy intersection and was stalling in traffic.

I have to pay 1200 out of pocket for something that should be covered by warranty. My son was driving the vehicle on I75 at 68-70 MPH yesterday around 5:45 pM. The car started stalling.I was driving my other vehicle Volvo XC 90 right behind. This is a very dangerous and known issue…

While driving on highway the Check Engine light illuminated along with a Service Electronic Throttle warning. Soon after engine died and the vehicle coasted to the side of the road. I was unable to restart. After tow to dealer vehicle would not start, awaiting dealer diagnosis. No safety issues were encountered with this incident.

While driving on the highway for about two hours, the engine lost power and went into neutral. The engine light and "Service Electronic Throttle Control" came on. The car stalled with vehicles behind me. I got to the shoulder and tried to restart the car. It would try to crank, but the engine would not start. I used a code reader and found codes related to engine misfires and low pressure fuel system (P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P008A, P0087).

On July 2, vehicle would not start. When pressing start button it continuously would try to crank but would not start. Check engine light, auto start on/off light, and ETC light came on. After 30-40 minute wait time, car started. Called dealer the following day but after multiple starts the lights/codes on dash went away. Dealer had no way to read the codes. On August 12, car started with the aforementioned lights turned on but after placing car in reverse and backing up some 10 feet it turned off. Car could not start again displaying the same…

The Electronic Throttle control and check engine lights came on suddenly, and then the car lost power. It would not turn off or turn on. The gear shifter did not work. It just stalled. Could not engage or disengage emergency brake. Steering wheel locked. I got it towed to Alfa Romeo of Glendale and they told me the fault was with a faulty fuel pressure sensor, which they replaced, telling me if the error recurred they would need to replace the fuel tank. The safety of everyone was put at risk because the car abruptly lost power and could no…
