A corroded faulty ground strap under the car, which is connected to the transmission caused the engine wiring harness to overload a smaller ground wire in the wheel well, then continued to melt other sections of the main engine wiring harness when trying to start the car. This is only a $200 part, but caused $6k+ of damages calling for a labor intensive job of replacing the entire engine wiring harness. The manufacturer does not provide any information on this to the owner as a maintenance issue or something to keep an eye on to prevent this is…

I received Safety Recall 25V-586 regarding the fuel pump defect on my 2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio. The notice states that the vehicle can lose drive power without warning, which could lead to a crash. However, the letter also says that the remedy for this condition is not currently available. I am extremely concerned for my safety because I rely on this vehicle for daily driving, and I do not feel it is safe to operate a car that could suddenly lose power at any time. 1. COMPONENT FAILED & INSPECTION: The transmission ground strap (uninsulated, bare braided copper cable) completely corroded/severed from environmental decay. This open ground circuit forced high engine-cranking currents into secondary low-voltage paths, causing an extreme thermal surge that melted and shorted out the main engine compartment wiring harness. Both failed components are preserved by the owner and are available for forensic inspection upon request. 2. SAFETY RISK: This manufacturing flaw causes a severe thermal fire hazard and an i…

Upon starting the vehicle a number of warning lights illuminated including the battery light. Upon viewing the battery compartment the plastic enclosure surrounding the battery had a few inches of water inside. I do have videos showing the water inside the compartment and also video of water being vacuumed out of the compartment. We did some research and found that this exact same issue sparked a recall in the same model vehicle in 2018. Very dangerous and i hope this is not happening to others, based on our research it is.

To date, this has not caused the vehicle to brake improperly. We purchased the car approximately three months ago. It is still under the manufacturer's original warranty. A recall was issued for a disrupted connector on the front buckle switch hall effect sensor that may cause the air bag to not deploy during a crash. This seems to be an important safety concern. However all dealers in my area (Los Angeles) either do not have the part(s) to repair the issue and do not have a timeline on when the part will be available, or have a waiting list of >7 months due to taking only 5 recall cars per week. Both scenarios seems unacceptable, particularly when the recall is related to a safety concern, and fall under the ca…
