ODI 10039346

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE CRUISE CONTROL AND TRANSMISSION. WHEN TRAVELLING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH AND GOING OVER A SMALL RISE (OVERPASS), SOMETIMES THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT UNLOCK THE TORQUE CONVERTER FOR NECESSARY POWER TO MAINTAIN VEHICLE SPEED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE TRANSMISSION DIRECTLY DOWNSHIFTS (WITHOUT FIRST UNLOCKING THE TORQUE CONVERTER). THIS CAUSES A VIOLENT SURGE IN VEHICLE SPEED OVER THE SET CRUISE CONTROL SPEED, AND THEN A DROP OF THE THROTTLE AND UPSHIFT, ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO SLOW AGAIN. THES…

DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR HEAD IS TOO LOOSE ON SWIVEL BASE, SO IT VIBRATES CONSTANTLY IN THE WIND OVER APPROX 40 MPH. THIS CONDITION IS SINCE NEW. THIS MAKES THE MIRROR UNUSABLE AS THE IMAGE IS BLURRED BEYOND RECOGNITION. MY DEALER REPLACED ONE MIRROR - SAME PROBLEM. MY DEALER DEMONSTRATED TO MY SATISFACTION THAT ALL OF THE VEHICLES HAVE THE SAME DEFECT. THIS AFFECTS MY SAFETY WHILE DRIVING AS I CANNOT PROPERLY TELL IF THERE IS TRAFFIC APPROACHING ON MY LEFT.

Darker cells indicate a larger share of submitted complaints. Components overlap. This measures complaint composition, not failure probability.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
