3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

25V225000 · Back Over Prevention: Sensing System: Camera

Reported: 2025-04-09 (April 9, 2025) · Model years: 2025

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2025 SQ6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron vehicles. The rearview camera may show a blurry image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Consequence: A blurry rearview image can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the rearview camera. In addition, dealers will inspect and replace surround view cameras as necessary. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 2, 2025. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 90XM.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

No selected model years have a complete observation window. Choose an eligible year or a shorter window.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.

System has become confused while cruise control engaged. On highway, it has veered to right shoulder after misreading construction. Has occurred multiple times, I no longer engage the feature. Second issue is failure of front camera causing many safety functions to be disabled. Third issue was failure of GPS receiver while navigating. Car attempted to direct me off the road into a lake! Constant issues engaging carplay reliably. Issues became more frequent after applying latest KD2 software patches which took two weeks. During that upgrade …

Car software has multiple error notifications at once (Forward collision error, active lane assist error, traffic sign recognition error, emergency assist error, active cruise assist error, lane departure warning error, active front assist/distance, proactive occupant protection, high beam assistant) Error happens about once a week consistently, and disappears/reappears with no change in the car.

Car continuously has errors popping up on the screen saying that the driver assist functions are unavailable while I'm in the middle of driving. Other times, when I get in and turn on the car, none of the clusters or screens show any information, so I am essentially driving blind with no information as to speed, or anything.

While driving on the freeway in the carpool lane, our Audi Q6 malfunctioned and lost power. There were numerous malfunction lights all at once. No other warning that the car was about to lose power. I was forced to coast across lanes avoiding traffic to the side of the road. Steering wheel was also violently shaking. The car has been out of service at the dealer for 58 days as of today. The manufacturer and dealer have both spent time analyzing the car and replaced the 12 volt battery and some control modules. Here is the text message I rec…

While driving my Audi Q6 e-tron on the highway, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of propulsion and nearly all vehicle electrical/display functions. The instrument cluster and dashboard went completely black, and the vehicle would no longer respond to accelerator input. I was able to get the vehicle to the side of the highway. After the failure, the vehicle could not be restarted or driven. The dashboard and vehicle controls remained inoperative, and I was unable to electronically lock the vehicle. The primary functions that c…

Sudden complete loss of propulsion while driving, with no opportunity to safely leave the travel lane; failure repeated again seven miles later after vehicle restart. Once propulsion is lost the driver has 1 to 2 seconds before multiple loud banging noises and the vehicle shuddering to an immediate stop without the driver using the brake pedal. I am reporting an unresolved safety defect involving my Audi Q6 e-tron. Before August 5, 2026, the vehicle had repeated intermittent electronic/system malfunctions, including safety warnings, systems becoming unavailable, loss of audio, Apple CarPlay failures, “technical error” messages, and the interface freezing on loading screens even after restarting. I have photos and videos documenting many of these issues. The vehicle was taken to an Audi dealer on August 5 and returned August 12 after service that included a KD2 update. On August 17,…
