Recall history

2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

22V911000 · Visibility:Defroster/Defogger/Hvac System

Reported: 2022-12-09 (December 9, 2022) · Model years: 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022

Braun Ambulances (Braun) is recalling certain 2014-2022 Chief XL, Express, Express Plus, Liberty, Patriot, Signature, Super Chief, and TLC vehicles. Excessive voltage may damage the condenser fan relay, resulting in failure and overheating of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system.

Consequence: HVAC system failure from overheating can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the relay and install a diode, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on December 15, 2023. Owners may contact Braun's customer service at 1-877-344-9990. Braun's number for this recall is 2022-02.

Reported: 2022-09-30 (September 30, 2022) · Model years: 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022

Braun Ambulance (Braun) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Chief XL, Express, Express Plus, Liberty, Super Chief, TLC, and Signature Series ambulances. The rear door top striker bolts may become loose and dislodge while the vehicle is in motion.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the striker bolts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 17, 2022. Owners may contact Braun's customer service at 1-877-344-9990. Braun's number for this recall is 22-001.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
