Recall history
2 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
20V731000 · Power Train:Driveline:Driveshaft
Reported: 2020-11-24 (November 24, 2020) · Model years: 2020
Bugatti (Bugatti) is recalling certain 2020 DIVO and Chiron vehicles. The rear left-hand driveshaft may break.
Consequence: A broken driveshaft could result in parts detaching and becoming a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Bugatti will notify owners, and dealers will replace rear left-hand driveshaft, free of charge. The recall began December 18, 2020. Owners may contact Bugatti customer service at 1-703-826-7545. Bugatti's number for this recall is BUGCR032.
NHTSA campaign record ↗20V732000 · Electronic Stability Control (Esc):Control Module:Software
Reported: 2020-11-24 (November 24, 2020) · Model years: 2020, 2021
Bugatti (Bugatti) is recalling certain 2017-2020 Chiron, 2018-2020 Chiron Sport and 2020-2021 DIVO vehicles. After an ignition cycle, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) does not automatically default back to the full-function original mode if the Handling Mode is selected on the Drive Mode switch. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems."
Consequence: If the Handling Mode is activated, the ESC System goes into Sport mode. After an ignition cycle, the ESC does not default to the original default mode (ESC Normal Mode). After restarting the car, the Drive Mode remains in Handling mode affecting the ESC performance, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Bugatti will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the software of the affected control units, free of charge. Owners may contact Bugatti customer service at 1-703-826-7545. Bugatti's number for this recall is BUGCR033.

Problems by model year
Model-wide comparison of the eight most reported components across the model. Cells show counts and shares within each model year. Open a cell for source examples.

Darker cells indicate a larger share of submitted complaints. Components overlap. This measures complaint composition, not failure probability.
Failure mileage by component

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2020: 0 complaints · 2021: 0 complaints

Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2020 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2021 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
