Sudden Acceleration. -I was driving on a highway. I accelerated to pass a truck and when I took my foot off the accelerator the car continued to gain acceleration. The gas pedal had returned to a normal position but the car was still accelerating. I had to put full force on the brakes to get the car to stop. One of my passengers noted that there were flames around one of the brakes. I turned the car off and we waited approximately 45 minutes for the brakes to cool enough to proceed without further incident.

Stopped at the West Bound Thruway Seneca service area. After returning to the vehicle, multiple error messages were displayed on screen. "Have Power Steering Serviced, Service Stabilitrak, Service Headlamps, AWD Tempoarily Unavailable" Steering was the main issue. It was almost impossible to turn and steer. It was fortunate that it was after a stop and not while driving. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but it has yet to be determined why the steering failed.

I am writing to report a series of alarming incidents involving my 2025 Cadillac, purchased on December 2, 2024. Within three months of ownership, I have experienced three separate occurrences that have caused me significant concern and physical distress. 1 Approximately two weeks after purchasing the vehicle, I was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, I pressed the Pedal. Within three- 4 seconds, I felt a sudden impact from the rear, as if I had been rear-ended. However, upon inspection, there was no visible damage to my …

Car has been asleep after parking and will not wake up leaving all electrical components dead. GM has not been able to repair and unfortunately this has occurred 5 times including twice the month of March, 2026. Having a car parked in an unsafe location and not being able to move it very unsettling. After 30-60 minutes the car will start back up and operate normally.

The infotainment screen automatically adjusts its brightness based on readings from the ambient light sensor. However, during dusk and dawn, while conditions still appear relatively bright to the human eye, the sensor interprets the light levels as low and significantly dims the screen. As a result, the display can become so dark that it is nearly unreadable. This issue occurs even when the brightness control wheel is set to its maximum setting. The light sensor overrides the manual brightness adjustment, and the control wheel can only further…

Low beam headlights work appropriately for 5 or so minutes before "drooping" or "sagging" so that they only illuminate one car length or so in front of the vehicle. Upon shutting off and restarting the vehicle, the lights return to correct illumination. However, they somehow droop again and within 5-10 minutes, it is not safe to drive the vehicle on low-beam headlights. It is the equivalent of having only fog lights on. There is a problem with the dashboard lighting. It is very dim and hard to read the dash to choose and view options and screen in general. I noticed this the day I picked up the new car. The dealer said there was nothing he could do. I contacted Cadillac and was told to go back to dealer and have him make a TAC call with GM for adjustment. They did this and said it met there specs. This is a very dangerous safety issue as when you are driving you spend to much time trying to see dashboard for adjustments and you can’t keep your eye on the road.…

This is dangerous for the passengers since they are abruptly thrown backwards without warning. Telematics module failed and the vehicle couldn’t connect to emergency OnStar services if involved in crash. GPS also doesn’t work with a faulty module. No cellular or WiFi connectivity. Car reroutes to somewhere without this module working. I’m paying for the OnStar subscription but with a faulty module it can’t connect. GM says part back ordered with no ETA. Thousands of people are reporting the same problem and it should be a recall at this point.

I was in a public parking lot and slowly approached a parking space in front of a store. When I applied the brakes to stop in the space, the car did not respond, it continued to drive forward, up the curb, crashed through the store front, and eventually came to rest mid-way in the store, amidst the furniture and store structure.

My car is equipped with a forward-facing camera, mounted on the forward area of the interior rearview mirror. Additional cameras are mounted on the front bumper, trunk door, and on the rearview mirrors on each side of the car. Various sensors mounted throughout both bumpers face the front, rear, and each side of the car. At the time of this incident all sensors and cameras were clean and free of obstructions, and software was up to date. I was driving uphill, negotiating a tight left curve at approximately 30 MPH in a rural, forested area in…

OnStar system on the vehicle is busted. Because of this the accident detection no longer works and the GPS is stuck in no mans land which makes it impossible to use their app to figure out charging percentage, how far and route to take to the nearest charging station.

I did some online research and am concerned that the accident may have been caused by a safety issue reported on our 2025 model Cadillac Lyriq involving its One Pedal Driving (OPD) feature. We had tried using OPD when we first got the car and didn't like it and have not engaged it again over the past year. However, after an Over The Air update last week, the feature seems have been engaged by itself. I noticed it the evening before and needed to research how to disengage. In the mean time my wife had to go out before I was able to disengage it,…

I attempted to honk three times and my honk horn would not work. In a case of an emergency, that is absolutely unacceptable a car like this should be able to honk.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
