I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2012 CAN-AM SPYDER RT SE5 FROM THE DEALER ON 7/22/2014. THE UNIT HAD 2 MILES ON IT WHEN I TOOK POSSESSION (2 MILES THAT WERE FROM TESTING THE UNIT AFTER BEING PREPPED). ON 7/24 AFTER RIDING HOME FROM WORK IN 80-85 DEGREE WEATHER, I PULLED INTO MY GARAGE AND PARKED THE BIKE. SOON AFTER MY WIFE ARRIVED HOME AND CAME UPSTAIRS. TWO HOURS LATER MY WIFE TOLD ME THAT SHE SMELLED A STRONG GAS ODOR IN OUR LIVING ROOM (WHICH IS RIGHT ABOVE OUR GARAGE). I WENT DOWNSTAIRS INTO THE GARAGE AND THE GAS FUME SMELL WAS ALMOST UNBEAR…

While driving the vehicle a clunking sound was heard and at the same time I experienced a loss of propulsion. The vehicle is currently in the process of being repaired as it was determined that the front drive sprocket main drive shaft had sheared. Fortunately I was able to pull off the highway at an intersection onto a much less congested street. There were not warning lights or indications that forewarned me of this event. The vehicle was towed as it was unable to proceed under its own power to the residence of the owner. After further e…

This is a safety issue with my 2021 CanAm RT Spyder. When riding up a grade in the mountains and the rpm's decrease, the motorcycle starts to buck, misfire and the the speed rapidly decreases. Downshifting to a lower gear does not alleviate the problem. My safety was jeopardized by the rapid reduction of speed in traffic putting me at risk of being hit from behind. I just completed a 3,800 mile journey and encountered the issue every time going up a grade that resulted in a drop of rpm's and speed. The vehicle has not been inspected, but I d…

RE: NHTSA recall #22V352. BRP has not moved forward in a timely manner to remedy this issue. One of the electrical fuse boxes on the vehicle (right side as viewed from front of vehicle) had water infiltration causing fuses to corrode; leading to an electrical failure at dark, where the vehicle had no headlight, tail light, brake light, turn signals or emergency flashers. BRP redesigned the alternator drive shaft starting with the 2023 model year. The alternator drive has a friction drive device built into the shaft. The shaft is making a squealing noise under normal operation. This friction unit is designed to only slip when a heavy load is applied to the alternator, ie when turning at idle. The problem is that when it slips the alternator cuts out and steering get difficult with out electric assistance. I also fear that this will prematurely wear the friction material off the shaft which will result in metal t…
