Year-by-year records
Recall history
6 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.
94V245000 · Exterior Lighting
Reported: 1994-12-14 (December 14, 1994) · Model years: 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994
THE REAR LIGHTS DID NOT HAVE REFLECTIVE DEVICES INSTALLED. THIS DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT."
Remedy: ADDITIONAL REAR RED REFLECTIVE DEVICES WILL BE INSTALLED.
NHTSA campaign record ↗92V068000 · Steering:Hydraulic Power Assist:Pump
Reported: 1992-05-08 (May 8, 1992) · Model years: 1989, 1990, 1991
THE POWER STEERING PUMP IS IMPROPERLY CALIBRATED AND HAS INSUFFICIENT POWER STEERING FLUID FLOW FOR THE OPERATION OF THE STEERING SYSTEM.
Consequence: INSUFFICIENT FLUID FLOW TO THE STEERING SYSTEM CAN RESULTIN INCREASED STEERING EFFORT, LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, AND A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy: CORRECT THE CALIBRATION OF THE POWER STEERING PUMP.
NHTSA campaign record ↗92V110000 · Steering:Column
Reported: 1992-07-28 (July 28, 1992) · Model years: 1991, 1992
THE WELDS ON A BRACKET WHICH ATTACHES THE TILT- TELESCOPING STEERING COLUMN TO THE FIREWALL UNDER THE DASH ARE DEFECTIVE AND COULD FAIL.
Consequence: FAILURE OF THE ATTACHMENT BRACKET CAN RESULT IN A LOSSOF STEERING CONTROL AND A POSSIBLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy: A NEW, IMPROVED BRACKET WILL BE INSTALLED ON ALL AFFECTED UNITS.
NHTSA campaign record ↗99V196000 · Electrical System:Wiring:Fuses And Circuit Breakers
Reported: 1999-07-22 (July 22, 1999) · Model years: 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: STREETCARS AND TRANSIT COACHES . THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE CAN RUB AGAINST THE ELECTRICAL JUNCTION BOX POWER STUD ALLOWING BATTERY CURRENT TO FLOW DIRECTLY TO GROUND.
Consequence: ELECTRICAL ARCING CAN IGNITE COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS IN THE JUNCTION BOX, INCREASING THE RISK OF PROPERTY DAMAGE AND PERSONAL INJURY.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL SECURE THE CABLE AWAY FROM THE JUNCTION BOX POWER STUD WITH A CLAMP THAT IS SECURED TO THE FLOOR BY A SCREW AND WASHER; AND THE JUNCTION BOX POWER STUD WILL BE INSULATED WITH A RUBBER BOOT.
NHTSA campaign record ↗02V192000 · Power Train:Manual Transmission
Reported: 2002-07-23 (July 23, 2002) · Model years: 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002
ON CERTAIN STREETCARS (DIESEL AND CNG MODELS) AND RT-52 DIESEL COACHES MANUFACTURED WITH AT-545 AND MT643 TRANSMISSIONS WHICH USE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE. THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE MAY RUB AGAINST THE JUNCTION BOX POWER STUD LOCATED ON THE BOTTOM OF THE JUNCTION BOX.
Consequence: LONG-TERM WEAR CAN ALLOW THE POWER STUD TO SHORT TO GROUND THROUGH THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE, RESULTING IN ELECTRICAL ARCING AND THE IGNITION OF COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS IN THE JUNCTION BOX COMPARTMENT.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE IF EITHER THE POWER STUD INSULATION BOOT AND/OR THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT CABLE CLAMP IS MISSING. BOTH THE INSULATION BOOT AND THE CLAMP WILL BE INSTALLED IF MISSING. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING JULY 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CHANCE COACH AT 1-888-391-1777.
NHTSA campaign record ↗02V004011 · Vehicle Speed Control
Reported: 2002-09-10 (September 10, 2002) · Model years: 2001
ON CERTAIN BUSES EQUIPPED WITH ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL/ACCELERATOR PEDALS SUPPLIED BY WILLIAMS CONTROLS INDUSTRIES, THE WELD ATTACHING THE CLEVIS TO THE PLATE HAS INSUFFICIENT PENETRATION AND COULD ALLOW THE CLEVIS TO SEPARATE FROM THE PLATE.
Consequence: IF THE CLEVIS SEPARATED FROM THE PLATE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN USE, THE VEHICLE WOULD RETURN TO IDLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy: CHANCE COACH RECOMMENDS THAT OWNERS INSPECT THEIR VEHICLES AND INSTALL THE PART KIT PROVIDED BY CHANCE COACH. OWNERS WHO DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE PARTS AND INSTRUCTIONS WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CHANCE COACH AT 1-888-391-1777.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2001: 0 complaints · 2002: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2001 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2002 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2001 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2002 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
