WHILE DRIVING ON LOCAL ROAD BRAKES FAILED, HAD TO DOWNSHIFT AND USE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP TRUCK. I FOUND OUT AFTER INVESTIGATING, THAT THE BRAKE LINES HAD RUSTED SO BADLY THAT THE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE BLEW OUT THE BRAKELINE TO THE FRONT DRIVERSIDE WHEEL. THE BRAKE SYSTEM IS A MAJOR SAFETY COMPONENT OF ANY VEHICLE, WHY IS THE NHTSA NOT ACTING ON THIS? THE ENTIRE BRAKE LINE SYS…

THE MECHANIC SEARCHED THE NHTSA SAFETY RECALL LIST AN NOTICED IT MAY BE A FACTORY RECALL AND RECOMMENDED I TAKE IT TO A DEALER. GUAGES STILL NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND RADIO STILL STAYS ON WHEN IT SHOULD BE OFF. SEEMS TO BE IN THE WIRING AND MAYBE THE IGNITION SWITCH. *NM

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
