ODI 11609909

The emergency collision avoidance braking automatically activated for no reason. Twice it happened at highway speed, once at 65 mph, once at 55 mph. On the one occasion we were approaching a highway overpass, it was bright and sunny - I suspect the system saw a shadow that it thought was somehow going to be a crash and momentarily activated brakes. The other time at highway speeds - I didn't see anything in particular that it was reacting to. Once this happened at about 30 mph, I suspect it saw a dark patch of asphalt. At a low speed, between 10 and 15 mph, the forward collision system automatically triggered and brought the car to an immediate stop. While we were lucky that no car was following behind us, the passenger and I experienced significant whiplash and lasting back pain as a result of this. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone, and not been reproduced. The forward collision system flashed (red warning light, alert).

Dear NHTSA, I am writing to express concern about the excessive noise generated by the Pedestrian Warning System (PWS) on my 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV. Left turn signal can activate by itself after right turn. Details: Driving and making a right turn with the right turn signal active, after the turn when the signal cancels, the signal sometimes activates the left blink-to-pass feature causing the left signal to blink 3 times. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

No selected model years have a complete observation window. Choose an eligible year or a shorter window.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.

On April 7, 2025 while backing out of the driveway, my son's car abruptly stopped. The manhole cover at the end of our driveway triggered the emergency braking system. My head was slammed against the headrest and caused a great deal of pain in my head. On April 15, 2025, I went to Kaiser and was told that I have a concussion.

My windshield is defected with no real time when a replacement can be ordered..the interior lining is not sealed properly which is causing a buckling effect by drivers and passengers visors.. Rain is getting inside and soaking into the dashboard causing the electrical system on screens to blink in and out Finally my brake harness is still on recall and my car has been shifting into park which could cause severe problems if I am on the highway..

Windshield has terrible glare and reflects the dashboard as to limit visibility. Front collision and auto braking including rear collision and braking are a safety hazard as they create hard braking events for no reason. Car will stop sudden for no reason. These are both serious safety issues. These are problems we have had with the car since purchase and have had the dealership shop work on the problem and were told just to leave it turned off. This is not the correct way to fix a problem with a vehicle.

I did a reset on the infotainment and the entire instrument cluster and infotainment set of screens stayed black.
