I just recently got my 2023 BoltEUV and I have discovered that the configuration of the rear end brake lights is dangerous because people expect the lights on the hatch to be the brake lights, but they are actually only running lights at nights. The brake lights and turn signals are actually much lower down in the cars bumper - this is not where people expect them to be. As such, a few people have almost rear ended me already since they are looking in wrong place for the rear brake lights. I suggest the hatch lights are updated to be the runni…

The brake lights are 28” approx from the ground but they sue very difficult to see from behind with other cars especially large vans trucks and SUV’s. The blinkers also appear to be red and don’t stand out. The combination make it appear like a reflector not a brake light and blinker. I’ve had the car for 5 days and have almost been hit from behind 3 times. This us a safety issue. Gm should make the upper light set blink and brake that’s in view of most drivers. Kia Hyundai is also doing this but their blinkers are Amber. Both ate accidents wai…

I was driving on CT Route 2 using super cruise. We came upon a construction zone and the bar on the steering wheel changed from green to red. The car came to a complete stop in the middle of the highway and didn't respond to the accelerator pedal. This is a frightening situation on a super highway. I tried pressing the buttons that turn on and off the cruise control, super cruise, etc. with no effect. Cars behind me passed on the left and right. I finally tried putting the car in Park and back into Drive. From that point on it worked normall…

I, and many other owners of Chevy Bolts are having our speed suddenly reduced without warning. The vehicle immediately drops to a max speed of 30 mph and gives an error message "Propulsion Power is Reduced". One common cause seems to be defective transmission fluid pumps, although other electrical and mechanical components also seem to cause this problem. One common error code seems to be P2797, along with the "Propulsion Power is Reduced" message. This dangerous speed reduction is sometimes happening in dangerous situations, while driving i…

Started the vehicle then attempted to shift into reverse, got "Conditions not correct for shift" error displayed on dashboard. Could also not shift into drive. I was able to shift into neutral and have it towed. I tried powering down and back on. Powered off, locked the car and walked out of keyfob range for 10min then returned and tried again. Nothing worked. Eventually the problem cleared up on it's own by the time the tow truck arrived (45min later)

The adaptive cruise control as well as regular cruise control limits the electronic braking to 10 kW. After that the friction brakes take over. There is little indication of it, and I think it's a safety risk because in hilly areas, as well as mountainous roads, the friction brakes activate risking overheating the brakes and a brake failure. I believe the earlier model years would not limit the electronic braking and would maintain the speed down hills using regenerative braking exclusively.

I am experiencing a well known flaw in the Chevy Bolt steering rack. The rack loses grease over time and eventually begins making clunking sounds, does not return the steering wheel to center, and makes steering less precise. This is a very common issue within Chevy Bolt forums and should be addressed by Chevy as a safety issue.

The service center updated the software, and the camera initially worked properly again, but within 2 weeks of the repair, the issue recurred and persisted. Federal safety standards require all vehicles made after May 2018 to have functioning backup cameras. The electric power steering (EPS) rack has developed an internal binding at times, causing the steering wheel to sometimes fail to naturally return to the center position after completing both low-speed and highway-rate turns. Instead of self-centering, the wheel holds its turned angle, forcing me to manually pull it back to straight-line navigation. This creates a serious safety hazard, as it requires unnatural steering corrections and can lead to overcorrection or unintended lane departure. No warning lights or diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs…

I was driving on the highway with GM Super Cruise engaged. I was within the speed limit on a straight road with my hands near the wheel. Without warning, the steering turned sharply to the left on its own and locked , I was unable to correct it or override the system. The vehicle left the road, spun, and was totaled. I walked away with minor injuries. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. The vehicle has been inspected by police (report exists) and insurance representatives. The vehicle is currently at a dealership and i…

The vehicle displayed a Service ESC warning, indicating a possible malfunction in the electronic stability control system. The malfunction may have reduced the vehicle’s stability and traction assistance, which could increase the risk of losing control while dri…

On the freeway going 70 mph our car decided to slam on the brakes. We had it on supercruise which also uses adaptive cruise control. It was not raining, it was overcast, we were in farm country with no bridges or signs over the roadway. No cars around. It was very scary! I have 2 other cars with adaptive cruise control and have never experienced this.

This car is equipped with Super Cruise an automated driving feature that I believe had a huge part in my inability to avoid hitting a deer. There should be many more considerations and warnings to consumers to protect them. In my situation I kept driving for much longer than I should have because the strain was not so bad. But the feature does not have a feature to pull over. I had to manually pull over and it was in this short period of time where I was clearly too impaired to drive without super cruise but with it I was still fine I could kee…

Adaptive cruise failed just over 2k miles following another vehicle under 60mph and sped up to set cruise of 75 and would have hit the truck if I didn’t stop it, I took video of failure directly after the incident. First bolt EUV camera failed more than once even after it was replaced, that car was bought back under battery recall. My point is, it’s a continued issue. With lane keep assist you must always be prepared for it not to function, it doesn’t always work and have to cycle the on/off button (same with previous EUV too). While in super c…

The situation occurs when using supercruise (GM’s lane centering and adaptive cruise control system). Under certain conditions with super cruise engaged and one pedal drive mode active, pressing the cancel cruise button (example: taking manual control briefly in order to allow a merging car into your lane) causes the vehicle to abruptly decelerate without the ability to override with the pedal. This uncontrollable abrupt deceleration poses a hazard to vehicles behind me. This deceleration can only really be overridden by proactively pressing …

Yesterday I took my car to dealership and got call from them that auxiliary transmission issue and they will replace it. Car is still at the dealership, now we are afraid to drive that car and what if it jeopardizes our safety. We drive a lot for work as a home health provider.

Steering Rack: The internal components of the rack bind up and create heavy resistance, causing the wheel to lock into a turned position rather than gliding back on its own to maintain control. This issue forces you to manually pull the steering wheel back straight after every turn, making high-speed and everyday driving unpredictable and dangerous. Power train: The powertrain is loose when moving forward and backward potentially causing a risk to others when leaving the vehicle in park.

My husband was driving (I was the passenger). We were driving down the road normally, straight ahead,, not too close to anyone else, when suddenly the brake (or emergency brake, which is what it sounded like to me) engaged out of nowhere, throwing us forward.
