THE FIRESTONE TIRES WERE INSTALLED ON OUR PICKUP AT AROUND 15,000 MILES ON THE PICKUP ITSELF, AT 28,246 MILES WE WENT TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED AND REBALANCED AND THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE THAT CAME OF WOULD NOT BALANCE. THEY TOOK IT APART AND DISCOVERED THE INNER LINER OF THE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY COMING APART AND TURNING INTO POWDER. FIRESTONE SAID IT HAD BEEN RAN AT LOW PRESURE AND THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE INNER LINER COMING APART, AND THAT IT WAS NOT "ADJUSTABLE" . Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
