Owner report 11454224 · 2022-02-26 (February 26, 2022)

On the first drive everyday, the transmission keeps slipping between 1st and 2nd gear and you have no power trying to accelerate until you find a gear. Took it to dealership and they couldn’t find anything wrong. They said Chevrolet has a bulletin on this issue already. Not okay

Owner report 11461116 · 2022-04-18 (April 18, 2022)

Since new delivery, transmission appears to slip into neutral when vehicle is first started and accelerated forward. Was advised by Chevrolet service that this is a known issue, and that GM is aware of the issue, but nothing can be done about it. Other than annoying, if a quicker move forward is required, the vehicle accelerates in neutral then grabs, causing the vehicle to slip on wet pavement, which could lead to a loss of control.

Truck was less than a month old and one day would not start due to a dead battery. After putting a battery charger on the truck, I got it started. Drove it for a bit and had warnings appear in the cluster saying functions are shutting down to conserve battery power. I then received an e-mail from OnStar indicating their is an issue with the airbags and to have the dealership look at this within 1 day. Truck was brought to the dealership the next day. After almost 2 weeks, a GM engineer had to get involved to diagnose why the Forward Collision m…

Basically the power assisted brakes and steering would not work. The vehicle was parked at my place of employment. Called the dealer to ask for suggestions. Engine stalled at highway speed 50mpr, disabled brakes, and steering. I coasted to a stop with absolutely no power. Engine would not restart for 2 minutes. No Engine lights or codes present but warning on dash read service trailer brake system disabled. I drifted to a stop with no brakes at all or power steering. We were not hauling any trailers and no trailer was connected. This was the scariest event I've ever experienced driving. Very unhappy when they're was no reason to stall. Gas tank was half full.

I purchase a brand new 2026 Silverado ZR2 with a 6.2 engine. A little over a week later at 511 miles it left me stranded on the side of the road. Towed it to the dealership and the dealership advised there was a misfire and cylinder number eight. However, they were unable to find a solution and had to contact GM engineers. I had to replace it with another new vehicle and lost money on the “trade”. Dealership only advised that “it needed extensive repairs”. It’s clear that the 6.2 issue had not been addressed properly.

As I was driving my vehicle on 9/12 the truck reported a brake system failure and I lost power to my brakes. I was able to pull over at the gas station and call the dealership. They said they couldn’t assist because they didn’t know what the issue was. I called a tow truck and had it towed to the dealer. They had my truck for 8 days and replaced the brake module and gave me back my truck. I noticed that the truck had only moved 1 mile from the time I left it at the dealer. NO ONE TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE prior to giving it back to me. As I was…

One week prior to the incident my engine had a loud ticking/knocking noise when starting up especially on a cold start, one night before thanksgiving driving to California I had my truck on cruise control 80mph when suddenly without any warning the engine shut off! My touch screen and speed gauge were still on I tried pulling over as quickly as I can with my emergency flashers on, I was almost side struck by trailers passing by me doing so! My truck got towed to the nearest Chevy dealer where I was told it was an electrical issue at first, then…

Vehicle was hard shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and back from 2nd to first gear. Periodic hard shifting would occur at highway speeds when attempting to pass. Vehicle was taken into the dealership. Deal had performed a smart learn on the transmission. Problem was corrected for approximately 50 miles. Problem came back and the dealership was contacted but they had no appointments available but stated vehicle was safe to drive. While at a stop light from red to green the vehicle lost all power, would not shift gears and check engine light ca…

Truck was less than a month old and one day would not start due to a dead battery. After putting a battery charger on the truck, I got it started. Drove it for a bit and had warnings appear in the cluster saying functions are shutting down to conserve battery power. Two separate but related incidents: 1. Sudden complete loss of power on a busy highway interchange. I had to pull over in an unsafe merge point. The truck would not start and had to be towed to a dealership. The tow driver was eventually able to start the truck and load it on a flatbed. The dealership had the vehicle for 3-4 days and replaced the starter and a fuse. 2. Second incident happened approximately 24 hours after getting truck back from the first incident. Sudden loss of power coming up a large hill. Truck completely died and would …

On 11/10/2022 I was driving in moderate to heavy traffic at low speed; approximately twenty (20) mph. I applied the brakes and immediately experienced a hard pedal coupled with some pulsating. I pressed the pedal as hard as I could as there was traffic stopped in front of me. At the same time every warning light illuminated on the dashboard. My truck stopped just short of colliding with the other vehicle in front of me. The message displayed on the dash read “Brake System Failure” followed by a second message which read “Trailer Brake Failure”,…

Was driving and the power steering quit working and had to manually turn truck into destination I was going to. It gave me a message the the electronic system needed to be serviced. Took to dealership and they claimed there was nothing wrong with electronic steering system. The blamed it on an on off switch mounted on my dash for my fog lights.

I drove the vehicle to work in the morning with everything operating fine. I was leaving for lunch 4 hrs later, started fine put it in drive and I absolutely had no power steering, I turned off the vehicle several times thinking something needed to be reset however no change. I went to leave work around 5:30pm and power steering worked fine again. I called the local dealership and explained there were no recalls or bulletins on this issue.

At 28000 km my 2022 Chevrolet trailboss 1500 with the 6.2 started to burn oil. It was averaging 1 litre every 2000km. The dealership told me this was perfectly acceptable for consumption on this engine. From 28000 km to 45967km I had it in multiple times due to low engine oil warnings and loss of power. At 45967km I took it to another Chevrolet dealership and they inspected my truck and determined that it was caused by piston and rings. This was done under warranty. I got the call stating my truck will be ready they are just doing a test drive…

I am writing to formally report a serious issue with my 2022 Chevy Silverado which I purchased brand new. Within just a few months of ownership, during a routine oil change, I was informed by the service technician that there was an oil leak. I took the truck to the dealership, and they claimed the issue was resolved by replacing the oil pan. However, the oil consumption continued, without knowing and still, no warning lights ever appeared. As the engine is the heart of any vehicle, this ongoing issue posed a serious safety risk, especially whi…

Wife was shopping with our kids. Stated she smelled gas and it continued to get stronger smelling as she drove. Noticed the mile to empty graph was going down really fast. I had her pull over at a safe location and look underneath the truck for anything out of the ordinary. Found gas running out of the engine bay dripping on the hit exhaust and atomiziing.
