THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE NOW. GOING AT SLOW SPEED, SUCH AS 5 TO 10 MPH MAKING A TURN AND THE STEERING GOES OUT MAKING THE TRUCK DIFFICULT TO TURN. IT IS LIKE THE IGNITION SWITCHES OFF AND THEN 5 TO 10 SECONDS LATER THE SWITCH COMES BACK ON. VERY SCARY WHEN THIS OCCURS! *TR

WHEN MAKING A TURN AT LOW SPEED, THE POWER STEERING GOES OFF. IT IS THEN ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN. IT DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP. THEY SAID IT WAS PUTTING OUT 1150 PSI AND IT SHOULD BE 1700-1800 PSI. THE PROBLEM CAME BACK THE NEXT DAY. I WILL TAKE BACK TO DEALER. *TR

Owner report 11516029 · 2023-04-07 (April 7, 2023)

The Transmission Control Module failed causing the vehicle to loose power and operate only in "limp mode". General Motors does not have a replacement module available, leaving the vehicle inoperable. GM has no reliable information as to when a module will be available. I had to use a third party service to try and repair the module for a cost of over $1,200. This seems to be a common problem with the 2008-20015 GM Duramax with the Allison transmission.

Brakes: the brakes do not stop the vehicle without excessive pressure to the pedal. Especially carrying a trailer with the exhaust brake & trailer brakes in effect. Inner brakes are worn down to the sensor at 35,000 miles. While the outside brakes are perfectly fine not much wear. There is a recall on the brake valve issue and bpmv same year and model of mine but my vin does not fall under that recall. I believe there is something wrong inside my rear brake system that is causing inner brakes to be worn that low compared to the outside brakes.

Brakes: the brakes do not stop the vehicle without excessive pressure to the pedal. Especially carrying a trailer with the exhaust brake & trailer brakes in effect. Takes excessive distance for vehicle to stop. Pedal must be pressed 3/4 to the floor for it to start to apply brakes. It is extremely difficult to stop this vehicle at any speed over 45mph. Have not taken to dealer, was expecting a recall but none until now. Steering: when I turn the steering wheel at low speeds such as backing into a parking spot, there’s a loud squealing noise c…
