Recall history

3 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

13V649000 · Latches/Locks/Linkages

Reported: 2013-11-19 (November 19, 2013) · Model years: 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013

Cruiser RV is recalling certain model year 2006-2013 Fun Finder, Shadow Cruiser, Fun Finder Xtra, Viewfinder, Signature, Radiance, Enterra recreational trailers manufactured January 1, 2006, through April 25, 2013 and equipped with Fastec-brand door locks. It may be possible to remove the key from the lock in a way that potentially jams the deadbolt.

Consequence: If the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. A person inside the travel trailer at the time will then be locked in and be unable to exit the vehicle without using the emergency exit, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Cruiser RV will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The recall began January 20, 2014. Owners may contact Cruiser RV at 1-260-562-3500 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505.

11V497000 · Equipment:Other:Labels

Reported: 2011-10-05 (October 5, 2011) · Model years: 2011

CRUISER RV IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 SHADOW CRUISER AND VIEWFINDER RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, MANUFACTURED FROM APRIL 21, 2011, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 6, 2011. THESE VEHICLES HAVE THE INCORRECT FEDERAL ID TAG, GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT RATING (GVWR) INFORMATION LABELS WHICH FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF PART 567, "CERTIFICATION."

Consequence: FAILURE TO FOLLOW PROPER VEHICLE LOADING SPECIFICATIONS BECAUSE OF A MISPRINTED LABEL COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy: CRUISER RV WILL MAIL TO CONSUMERS THE CORRECTED LABEL OR THE CUSTOMER WILL HAVE THE OPTION FOR DEALERS TO INSTALL THE LABEL FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 30, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CRUISER RV AT 1-574-457-6472.

15V234000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer:Lpg Systems:Lines And Fittings

Reported: 2015-04-20 (April 20, 2015) · Model years: 2015

Cruiser RV (Cruiser) is recalling certain model year 2015 Viewfinder recreational trailers manufactured September 4, 2014, to March 30, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the liquid propane (LP) compartment in the slide room is not properly sealed to the interior of the trailer. If a leak occurs in the LP compartment, propane gas could dissipate into the interior of the trailer.

Consequence: A propane gas leak into the interior of the trailer increases the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

Remedy: Cruiser will notify owners, and dealers will modify the recreational trailer so that the LP compartment is sealed from the passenger area, free of charge. The recall began on May 14, 2015. Owners may contact Cruiser customer service at 1-866-277-5630. Cruiser's number for this recall is 11041R.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CRUISER RV VIEWFINDER BEING HAULED BY A 2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NON-COMPLIANT WITH THE WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION FOR THE TRAVEL TRAILER, WHICH CAUSED A FAILURE MORE THAN ONCE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS HAULING THE TRAILER, THE WHEELS WOBBLED EXTENSIVELY AND THE TRAILER SWAYED IN AN UNSAFE MANNER. IN ADDITION, THE AXLES FRACTURED AND THE SPRINGS FAILED. THE DEALER REPLACED ALL OF THE AXLES AND THE SPRINGS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. AFTER THE REPAIR REMEDY, THE TRAILER STILL WO…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
