Not being able to scroll through the presets on the steering wheel is a safety hazard. I previously had a 2023 Compass, and it had the buttons on the back of the steering wheel that allowed you to cycle through presets, step through channels up and down one by on and change the source (Sirius, FM, AM, Phone). Discontinued vehicle model still under active bumper to bumper warranty (thru 10/26); has faulty rear defroster/heated side mirrors that the "remedy" handed down to me was to "drive more" in an effort to charge battery to a threshold that allows said necessary safety feature to operate. If charge falls beneath 65% the vehicle terminates functionality of deemed "non-essential" operations to maintain major functions. Problem is, this feature is not optional. Error messages will get stuck in sequence and necessitate bringing the vehicle into a dealership to reset everything. It’s very scary to drive when you car is telling you your power steering is off, your airbags are off, check transmission, check engine all at the same time.

There was no power to my Dodge hornet, and I needed to open the rear lift gate. The only way to do that, was to pull the emergency trunk release handle. When I went to look for the handle by the liftgate, I found that there was no handle. I took the rear tailgate panel off, and found that not only was the handle not present, but the entire cable assembly was missing. My vehicle has never been in an accident, and this panel had never been removed before.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

I have three issues that I believe compromise the safety of the Hornet. My specific safety-related issues are: Emergency call system inoperable (this worked originally but became a problem when the dealer replaced my telematics module) FCW - Intermittent warning lights that indicate the system has been disabled or that a crash is imminent ACC - Intermittent warning lights that the ACC sensor is blocked These errors occur while the vehicle is being driven and may go on and off multiple times in a single trip. …

The cars advanced safety system sensors malfunction. This leads to a variety of different outcomes. Sometimes we just see the warning lights telling us it’s not working, and other times the car has actually slammed on the brakes as it thought something was in front of it when there was nothing. We have been told that there is no fix right now but should have an update to repair by the end of Q1 2024, but they can not guarantee. We have made it clear this is a safety issu…

The car operates as if the start stop function is on when it has been turned off. The car idles erratically it launches when driving. The car pulls back while driving and putters. I have been scared to drive the car due to the way it erratically drives. The check engine light has come on twice. The coolant hose repaired, and now engine needs replacing due to piston, pin scoring cylinder walls, and spark plugs fouled. On both occasions, there was no oil found on inspection on the dipstick.
