Recall history

4 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

17V755000 · Equipment

Reported: 2017-11-22 (November 22, 2017) · Model years: 2018

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling various 2003-2018 Crossroads, Dutchmen, and Keystone recreational trailers equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V755-5127.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

Consequence: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy: Keystone will notify owners and instruct them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2018. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-574-535-2100, or Kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. Keystone's number for this recall is 17-307.

18V723000 · Suspension:Rear:Axle:Non-Powered Axle Assembly

Reported: 2018-10-15 (October 15, 2018) · Model years: 2019

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2019 Dutchmen Aerolite and Atlas, Keystone Bullet, Laredo, Cougar, Hideout, Passport and Springdale, and Crossroads Sunset fifth wheels and travel trailers. The axles may be missing inner bearing races on the hubs, which can cause the bearing to burnout or cause the hub to overheat.

Consequence: If the bearing cup is not installed it could lead to a bearing failure, affecting vehicle handling and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will inspect axles for hub clearance. If the hub clearance is not sufficient, appropriate parts will be provided to correct the defect, free of charge. The recall began November 16, 2018. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 18-334.

18V843000 · Power Train:Axle Hubs

Reported: 2018-11-28 (November 28, 2018) · Model years: 2019

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2019 Keystone Cougar, Outback, Passport, Springdale, Bullet and Hideout recreational trailers and 2019 Dutchmen Aerolite and Atlas recreational trailers. The inner hub bearings of the axles may not have been sufficiently greased, which can cause the bearings to overheat and fail.

Consequence: If the bearings overheat, the hub may fail, affecting handling and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the hubs and bearings, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began January 16, 2019. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 18-340.

19V746000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer:Lpg Systems:Lines And Fittings

Reported: 2019-10-18 (October 18, 2019) · Model years: 2020

Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2020 Dutchmen Atlas 3382BH trailers. The trailers may have a non-metallic propane supply hose installed inside the burner box of the cooktop, instead of a copper supply hose.

Consequence: Under certain conditions, the heat from the range burner may cause the hose to melt and leak propane, increasing the risk of a fire or an injury.

Remedy: Keystone will notify owners, and dealers will remove the non-metallic propane gas line and attach it to a copper propane gas line, free of charge. The recall began November 15, 2019. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 19-363.

The trailer fresh water tank fell out bottom of the trailer. The water tank is at the rear of the trailer. The tank fell down and the only thing that kept it from falling totally out was the trailer electrical wiring that it caught on. If it had fallen out completely on a major highway in heavy traffic I'm sure someone might have gotten injured trying to avoid it. I have not taken the trailer to a dealer for inspection nor gas the manufacturer inspected it. I reinstalled the tank myself and it is not going to fall out again. The tank was not se…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
