Recall history

1 distinct campaigns affect this selection. Announcement dates below are different from vehicle model years. A campaign may cover multiple years.

25V021000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer:Lpg Systems:Water Heater

Reported: 2025-01-17 (January 17, 2025) · Model years: 2025

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2025 East to West Ahara fifth wheel trailers. The water heater exhaust is ventilated directly under the slideroom, allowing carbon monoxide to enter the vehicle.

Consequence: Carbon monoxide inside the vehicle increases the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and death.

Remedy: Owners are advised not to use the water heater until the remedy is performed. Dealers will replace the water heater, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 31, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-264-6664. Forest River's number for this recall is 503-1887.

We arrived for our first trip this year on Thursday April 23, 2026. We did not need heat until Saturday night April 25th 2026. We turned the propane bottle on and then set the thermostat to heat for it to come on. After several attempts the furnace never ignited. We turned the 1st bottle back off. Went to the second bottle on the driver's side of the camper, turned that bottle on and went in the camper to turn the gas stove on to bleed the line. Then went back to the heater and set it to come on again. It did not ignite. Went back outside to th…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
