04V248000 · Equipment:Recreational Vehicle/Trailer
Reported: 2004-05-25 (May 25, 2004) · Model years: 2002, 2003, 2004

Consequence: THE TV LIFT CONTROLLERS CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR CAUSE SMOKE INSIDE THE INTERIOR OF THE COACH.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL RE-PROGRAM THE PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC) PROGRAM WITH A SPECIFIC RUN TIME LIMIT WHICH WILL SHUT DOWN THE MOTOR IF THE RUN TIME LIMIT IS EXCEEDED. FURTHER, THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTION WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE INSTALLATION OF A THERMAL BREAKER IN THE MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR BOTH FORWARD AND REVERSE DIRECTION. THE RECALL BEGAN JUNE 4, 2004. Reported: 2005-06-14 (June 14, 2005) · Model years: 2004, 2005, 2006
ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON PREVOST BUS CHASSIS AND EQUIPPED WITH VEHICLE SYSTEMS' AQUA-HOT AND HYDRO-HOT WATER HEATERS, WHICH USE WEBASTO BURNER TUBES, THE BURNER TUBES DO NOT MEET SPECIFICATIONS AND COULD FAIL PREMATURELY.
Consequence: THE SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF THE EXHAUST TUBE EXITING FROM THE HEATER CAN INCREASE AND COULD POTENTIALLY IGNITE COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS IN OR AROUND THE VEHICLE.
Remedy: FEATHERLITE IS WORKING WITH VEHICLE SYSTEMS TO NOTIFY OWNERS AND HAVE THE REPAIR PERFORMED ON THEIR VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 21, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT VEHICLE SYSTEMS AT 1-800-685-4298 OR FEATHERLITE AT 888-826-8273.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
2005: 0 complaints · 2006: 0 complaints
| Model year | Through age 0 | Through age 1 | Through age 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2005 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2006 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2005 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| 2006 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
