Owner report 11588059 · 2024-05-10 (May 10, 2024)

Two issues with a brand new vehicle that is in the service department and they are unable to diagnose the issue. The major concern is regarding the braking system. While in a parking lot driving slowly (5-10 mph) the brakes suddenly locked up and the vehicle came to a complete stop. A message appeared reading "Brake system failure, have brakes serviced". The message then went away and the vehicle was able to continue. The other issue is a front sensor keeps beeping as if there is something in that area. The brake issue is concerning, if we were…

Applied brakes and instead of braking, vehicle accelerated on its own. Please note, when brake applied, felt resistance and simultaneously vehicle accelerated into lane of traffic. Rate of speed was very low, as I was coming to a stop in a parking lot. No warning lights on dash, dealership confirmed it was not the floor mats, there are no loose items in vehicle. My safety was put at risk as well as anyone walking/crossing the walk area and any vehicles that may have been in the lane of traffic. I immediately contacted dealership and was …

The issue involves the purchase of a 2024 Ford Expedition Max, VIN [XXX] , which purchased on [XXX] from Legacy Ford in Corbin, KY. I was in a car accident on June 12, 2025, and my steering wheel airbag did not deploy correctly or function correctly. It was a front in straightforward collision. I did not have warning signs so my brakes could have been an issue because I was paying attention and unable to avoid an accident going under the speed limit. The rear cross traffic. I rented the vehicle in question from Hertz. The vehicle's cruise control and vehicle acceleration system repeatedly malfunctioned over the course of several days. I would have cruise control set for 35 mph and the vehicle would automatically re-set cruise control to 55 or 65 mph. Likewise, I could have the cruise control set for 55 mph or 75 mph and it would automatically on its own re-set the cruise control to 85 mph and even, in a couple cases, 100 mph.

I recently discovered that the car seat harness is fraying on both sides. This is near the base (by hips of child in seat) where they enter the cushion and connect to the car seat. I think this is a defect and poses a risk, especially if I were to get in an accident. When I submitted a complaint with photos to Baby Jogger they replied "After reviewing the concern, please note that fraying is not considered a manufacturing defect. Fraying occurs gradually through normal use and wear over time rather than from a single incident and should be ad…

Started vehicle for first drive of the day and noticed the digital instrument cluster failed to display any information. The screen remained blank although the backlight was on. Turned the vehicle off and on, performed a reset, disconnected battery for more than an hour before reconnecting, checked fuses, etc., but the display did not correct. Unable to check speedometer, fuel levels, RPM, drive mode, etc. The vehicle has been taken to local Ford Dealership, buy was advised it would be several weeks before they could run diagnostics check.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
