Owner report 11618002 · 2024-10-04 (October 4, 2024)

The vehicle moved forward with the shifter set in reverse. My safety and the safety of others was put at risk because the vehicle moved in the opposite direction from that indicated both by the position of the shifter and by the audible backup warning. Pressing the accelerator caused the vehicle to move forward instead of reverse. This problem has not yet been reported to manufacturer. There were no warning lamps or messages. All indicators were normal. This occurred while parallel parking in a tight space between two cars on the left …

On October 4, 2022 at ~1:30 p.m. EDT I was stopped at a red light when an extremely loud pop and deafening noise "exploded" in the truck cabin. If I had been driving at the time, the sudden and extreme noise could have caused me to react in a way to lose control of the vehicle. After the light changed, I turned into a business entrance, turned the vehicle off, got out of the vehicle, locked the door, and the noise still continued for several seconds. I have a F150 Lightning being delivered ( expected 2/23 - 3/2 ). I’ve read about the fire on 2/5 almost exactly the date my truck was shipped. Ford says “should” be OK. Dealer says Ford problem. I don’t want a bomb in my garage. What should I do? Know you’re on it as I read a story today. You should know that Ford is basically telling me to take delivery “as is”. This hardly seems safe to me as well as others who have builds that coincide with this very dangerous issue. Thank you for any help.

When the vehicle starts up, the adaptive headlights center themselves for driving. They move left right and back to center. This takes about 2 seconds. My right headlight functions normally, but the left does not. The left headlight takes about 15 seconds to move all the way left and does not center itself but rather goes all the way to the right and remains there. As a result, driving down the road at night, the left side of the road is not as illuminated as the right. This should be considered a safety hazard.

Unintended acceleration / rolling may occur when vehicle is remote started through Fordpass mobile application. The 1 pedal-drive vehicle setting is NOT preserved when using remote start. Vehicle may roll down hill upon entry. Default driver profile has 1 pedal drive OFF while all device profiles linked to Fordpass and Phone-as-a-Key have 1 pedal drive ON. Fordpass mobile app remote start needs to preserve 1 pedal drive setting due to potential unintended acceleration when on flat surfaces or unintended reverse acceleration rolling down hills.

My vehicle has a broken backup camera (extremely blurry, barely or unusable). It has not functioned properly since the vehicle had about 2,500 miles on it, around 15 December 2024. It now has 7,300 miles on it and the manufacture has not remedied the situation. The backup camera is currently on back order (since January 2025) by the dealership. The dealership implied that it was likely on backorder because there was a high demand for them since they were breaking frequently.

I was making a road trip in my 2024 F150 Lightning Lariat. I pulled up to a Tesla supercharger. I turned the car off and attempted to plug in but the cable was about three inches too short. So I got back in the truck, turned it back on and put it in gear for the last three inches of travel. The truck accelerated dramatically. It clipped two charging stations, hopped a curb and went into a field, headed for a major lane of traffic. I rode the brake as hard as I could and it continued to accelerate. I almost hit various cars on the way home because there is certainly an adjustment needed to my braking habits. Very dangerous and unsafe. I took the truck to the dealership and quoted me around $2,500. This is something I have no control over…

So I got back in the truck, turned it back on and put it in gear for the last three inches of travel. The truck accelerated dramatically. It clipped two charging stations, hopped a curb and went into a field, headed for a major lane of traffic. I rode the brake as hard as I could and it continued to accelerate. I threw it in neutral and finally got control o…

While driving at speed on public roads on [XXX], the primary 12-inch digital instrument cluster suffered a total blackout while the vehicle was powered and moving. The failure eliminated all speedometer readings, battery state-of-charge indicators, gear selections, and safety telltales/warning lights in violation of FMVSS 101.
