Owner report 11611933 · 2024-08-31 (August 31, 2024)

New 2024 Ford Maverick. 12,000 miles. At around 10K miles, a factory recall regarding the firmware driving the brake light system was performed. This has 'broken' the factory installed trailer braking system that applies braking to an attached trailer with electric brakes. This is very dangerous, since failed trailer braking can cause a severe accident. The factory system shows alerts on the dash: when a trailer is electrically connected to the truck, the system responds with "Trailer connected". And now, that same message appears, but as s…

Upon exiting my garage I always stop to close the door. My driveway has incline. I begin to roll back, hit the breaks several times with no engagement, begin pumping the brake pedal several times, no response. Continued to roll in reverse going across the street and hit neighbor's park car in their driveway. Police Officer noted that brake pedal was very low upon applying brakes and a hiss sound of like a vacuum or pressure lost. Reported a claim to insurance company. I never observed any indication of faults. Had truck toed to Greiner Fo…

Auto stop/start and remote functions disabled due to battery unable to meet electrical demands of the vehicle. As delivered the battery is insufficient to meet the needs of the vehicle and needs to be externally charged or driven for over 2 hrs to regain function. My concern is that in normal driving the battery ability to deliver energy may become insufficient.

Driving down road at 45 mph as usual. Car suddenly shudders and as I pull to a stop car is stuck in neutral. Will not receive gas. Suddenly lurches into first gear, almost making me hit who is in front of me. I pull into center lane and the car is frozen and won't move. I restart the car and it stays stuck in first gear revving high. I limp it home given I'm a few minutes away. Could have caused a serious incident.

The 2022 Ford Maverick has a design flaw the harms the environment and places driver and passengers at risk. Specifically the vehicle does not have a metal skid plate which places the Evap System at risk for damage. If the system is damaged the vehicle is still driveable, but doing so allows gas vapors into the environment and worse, possibly into the passenger compartment. Looking under the vehicle, one finds some sort of fabric or mesh material which is definately not robust enough to protect the evap system components from damage. Driving…

On [XXX] I bought new 2024 Ford Maverick XLT Tremor AWD Ecoboost Engine with an 8-SPD Auto Transmission. My turbocharger went out 3 times with in a month the dealership is trying there best to fix it but every time they do something with that same system goes wrong. At first it was nothing to bad but lack of power and sounding rough and it was like that the second time the system went out how ever on the 3rd time I was on the highway and when it went out it disabled my crew’s control system and when I bought it back they now say it’s is an electrical concern.

CV axles failed around 42,000 miles. Purchased new tires due to one being worn. After new tires the front end was shaking on acceleration onto the highway. Vibration stopped once the vehicle got up to speed. The tires were rebalanced but that didn't help. The mechanic found the problem to be the CV axles. Once both were replaced the vibration finally stopped.

Vehicle lost power and service engine light came on, transmission speed sensor, powertrain control system, PCM communication error, the second time it said pre-collision assist and powertrain malfunction reduce power. The first time it happened they replaced the transmission, the second time it completely stalled, and they could not duplicate the problem. Returned the vehicle to me without repairing anything. All codes showing on my Ford app were no longer in the computer on vehicle.

I am reporting a recurring safety-critical failure. On two separate occasions, the vehicle has experienced a total electrical and mechanical shutdown while in operation. During these events, the 12V power system fails completely, turning off all instrumentation and, most critically, the electronic power brake assist. This results in a 'hard pedal' condition where the vehicle is nearly impossible to stop without extreme physical force. The first instance occurred at road speeds, forcing an emergency maneuver into a turning lane to avoid traffic…

While driving my 2024 Ford Maverick on a highway at approximately 65 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost power to the front wheels while passing a slower-moving vehicle. This caused the truck to jerk and decelerate rapidly in the oncoming lane, forcing me to veer back into my original lane abruptly.
