Owner report 11690294 · 2025-09-29 (September 29, 2025)

In the first week with only 107 miles, the brakes failed 3 times at very low speeds. Once while backing out and no brakes at all. 2 days later while turning a corner in a parking light they totally failed and I just missed hitting a car. And the 3rd time when I was trying driving out of the Ford dealership they failed and I hit the dealership truck and damaged both vehicles. They didn’t believe me until I took it to the garage and parked it. Then they started it up it had no brakes.

2025 2.0l Maverick 8f-35 auto trans. on cold start after sitting overnight transmission hesitates to engage and/or shifts harshly on 1st drive of the day so far. Most noticeable on 1-2 upshift. Feels like engine rpm flares or transmission skips before changing gear. Conditions repeat almost daily on first drive from cold start. Owner report 11760204 · 2026-08-28 (August 28, 2026)

At 3k miles the turbocharger and parts within the transmission failed on my 2025 ford maverick, there were no warning lamps or messages on the dash but I had the symptoms of lack of power, the truck struggled to climb hills, it sounded like the turbo sound was coming through the air vents, and going uphill it almost stalled. I took it to one ford dealership who claimed it was normal operation before taking it to one of Fords commercial truck centers who diagnosed a turbo failure and various parts within the transmission have failed.

Owner report 11728937 · 2026-04-02 (April 2, 2026)

The passenger side floor is soaking wet every time it rains. Google says this is a defect with the windshield cowl, which other owners say is a common problem. Our safety is at risk with potential for mold, rust, and water intrusion into the electrical system. The truck is going to the dealership on Monday to have this issue addressed. It has been reproduced every time it rains. It has not been inspected by anyone other than myself. There were no warnings or alerts. We've noticed the wet carpet a couple times and researched the problem.

Driving down road at 45 mph as usual. Car suddenly shudders and as I pull to a stop car is stuck in neutral. Will not receive gas. Suddenly lurches into first gear, almost making me hit who is in front of me. I pull into center lane and the car is frozen and won't move. I restart the car and it stays stuck in first gear revving high. I limp it home given I'm a few minutes away. Could have caused a serious incident.

Traveling 350 miles for work, my Maverick was at 2400 miles when both of my front cv boots were spewing grease all over the underside of the truck, stranding me away from home. The truck would shake violently when accelerating to the point I had to pull over. With all the destruction on the underside of the truck, the local dealer (not preferred) informed me that “they didn’t know who or when” but a missing clamp on one side and a torn boot on the other and denied me from claiming my warranty at 2400 miles. New 2024 Ford Maverick. 12,000 miles. At around 10K miles, a factory recall regarding the firmware driving the brake light system was performed. This has 'broken' the factory installed trailer braking system that applies braking to an attached trailer with electric brakes. The 2022 Ford Maverick has a design flaw the harms the environment and places driver and passengers at risk. Specifically the vehicle does not have a metal skid plate which places the Evap System at risk for damage. If the system is damaged the vehicle is still driveable, but doing so allows gas vapors into the environment and worse, possibly into the passenger compartment. Looking under the vehicle, one finds some sort of fabric or mesh material which is definately not robust enough to protect the evap system components from damage. Driving…

I am concerned about long-term transmission damage and safety when pulling into traffic. I'm aware this and other issues have been acknowledged by Ford in prior TSBs-the same 8f-35 transmission has rough shifting in 2022…

The vehicle is a 2025 Ford Maverick. The engine experienced a major internal failure that was later diagnosed by the dealership as a gouge in the #4 cylinder wall. This defect caused significant engine malfunction and required major repair/replacement. This issue which triggered a CEL created a serious safety concern because a failure of this type can result in sudden loss of engine power while driving, which increases the risk of a crash, especially when traveling at highway speeds or when attempting to merge into traffic.

I was able to safely get to the right shoulder within about 100-yards. We were 18-miles into the 104-mile journey to our home from the RV park in San Dimas. (Level ground.) I then got in the Maverick, placed my foot on the brake, started it and shifted to Park to take it out of Neutral Tow Mode. (It started right up)
I then…

In the first week with only 107 miles, the brakes failed 3 times at very low speeds. Once while backing out and no brakes at all. 2 days later while turning a corner in a parking light they totally failed and I just missed hitting a car. And the 3rd time when I was trying driving out of the Ford dealership they failed and I hit the dealership truck and damaged both vehicles. They didn’t believe me until I took it to the garage and parked it. Then they started it up it had no brakes.

not every time, but several times throughout driving around all day, i notice: the vehicle is in 'eco' driving mode, and while i start to slow down, lightly applying constant pressure to the brake pedal, the vehicle goes from a smooth constant slowing down pace, and all of a sudden, the vehicle seems to surge/lurch/lunge forward at a faster pace, and then a fraction of a second later, the vehicle then slows down closer to expected. Im not sure if its an issue with the hybrid eCVT , the regenerative hybrid braking, or the electronic ABS ... or…

I am concerned about long-term transmission damage and safety when pulling into traffic. I'm aware this and other issues have been acknowledged by Ford in prior TSBs-the same 8f-35 transmission has rough shifting in 2022…
