Owner report 11481721 · 2022-08-29 (August 29, 2022)

Transmission Failure. Following a 550 mile road trip over two days. The transmission would fail to engage in Drive and Reverse until the engine was throttled to 4000-4500RPM. Transmission felt like a Manual with failing clutch, would slip until slowly engaging after running at high RPMs for a few seconds. The condition appeared after the first day of the trip, and was intermittent, occurring only during standing starts. Once the vehicle was moving, there was no problem maintaining speed. Over the next two days the condition deteriorated to the …

I was driving on the freeway driving eastbound on 152 and I switch to the fast lane to pass a vehicle and the throttle stopped working, the truck lost speed and the truck turned off, a message popped on the screen saying that I needed to put it in park. I put it in park put the hazards on and attempt to restart it and it would crank but wouldn’t start. I did this until the allowed amount of times reached its limit. I attempted to put the gear in neutral but the knob was stuck. The truck was at a slight angle as I was going uphill and couldn’t g…

Driving down road at 45 mph as usual. Car suddenly shudders and as I pull to a stop car is stuck in neutral. Will not receive gas. Suddenly lurches into first gear, almost making me hit who is in front of me. I pull into center lane and the car is frozen and won't move. I restart the car and it stays stuck in first gear revving high. I limp it home given I'm a few minutes away. Could have caused a serious incident.

Traveling 350 miles for work, my Maverick was at 2400 miles when both of my front cv boots were spewing grease all over the underside of the truck, stranding me away from home. The truck would shake violently when accelerating to the point I had to pull over. With all the destruction on the underside of the truck, the local dealer (not preferred) informed me that “they didn’t know who or when” but a missing clamp on one side and a torn boot on the other and denied me from claiming my warranty at 2400 miles. 2025 2.0l Maverick 8f-35 auto trans. on cold start after sitting overnight transmission hesitates to engage and/or shifts harshly on 1st drive of the day so far. Most noticeable on 1-2 upshift. Feels like engine rpm flares or transmission skips before changing gear. Conditions repeat almost daily on first drive from cold start. New 2024 Ford Maverick. 12,000 miles. At around 10K miles, a factory recall regarding the firmware driving the brake light system was performed. This has 'broken' the factory installed trailer braking system that applies braking to an attached trailer with electric brakes. The 2022 Ford Maverick has a design flaw the harms the environment and places driver and passengers at risk. Specifically the vehicle does not have a metal skid plate which places the Evap System at risk for damage. If the system is damaged the vehicle is still driveable, but doing so allows gas vapors into the environment and worse, possibly into the passenger compartment. Looking under the vehicle, one finds some sort of fabric or mesh material which is definately not robust enough to protect the evap system components from damage. Driving…

The passenger side floor is soaking wet every time it rains. Google says this is a defect with the windshield cowl, which other owners say is a common problem. Our safety is at risk with potential for mold, rust, and water intrusion into the electrical system. The truck is going to the dealership on Monday to have this issue addressed. It has been reproduced every time it rains. It has not been inspected by anyone other than myself. There were no warnings or alerts. We've noticed the wet carpet a couple times and researched the problem.

My husband was driving on a highway going 55 mph when the engine light came on and then the car completely shut off and died and would not start. It left him stranded on the highway with no shoulder at -35F. Ford now tells me they cant even look at the vehicle to see what is wrong until April 2025.

I was at a stoplight, when the light turned green I went to press the gas and the whole car lost power and died. The car stalled and would not turn over again. The vehicle had power but would not start the engine. All the alerts were flashing on the dash and the car would not go into neutral, so I was stuck in the middle of the roadway. I followed the procedures to activate the manual override and place the car into neutral and the vehicle would still not move. The electrical brake would not allow the vehicle to move. We tried repeatedly to put…

While driving on the streets the powertrain module gave out. It started to jerk around 30 mph and then just would not go.

On [XXX] the headlights on my 23 ford maverick xlt ecoboost decided to completely go out and stop working for a couple seconds when driving past a cop which resulted in him pulling me over. Other issues i have had are the electronic parking brake failing after pressing it almost 8 times and the car lurching forward where it almost hit a wall if i didn't hit the brake again. The radio sometimes is completely unresponsive and needs a hard reset. At a stoplight the other day it was raining, once green the truck slammed into gear and the rpm jumped…
