TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FOUR WINDS SERRANO RV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HYDRAULIC LIFT SYSTEM FAILED. THE PUMP WAS BURNED AND ALMOST CASUED THE RV TO CATCH ON FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PUMP DID NOT HAVE A SLINGER OR A K-STRAIN, WHICH WOULD KEEP HYDRAULIC FLUID FROM FLOWING INTO THE MOTOR AND PREVENT BOTH THE MOTOR AND PUMP FROM OVERHEATING. THE MOTOR HOME WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER IN FEBRUARY WHERE THE PUMP WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 5,000.

WHILE DRIVING IN FLORIDA AFTER PURCHASING THE RV, I RAN INTO A LIGHT RAINSTORM. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE IN INTERMITTENT MODE AND STOPPED WORKING AFTER A FEW MINUTES OF OPERATION. I COULDN'T GET THE WIPERS TO WORK UNLESS I PUT THEM IN "FAST" MODE. AFTER THE RAIN STOPPED WE DROVE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND RAN INTO ANOTHER RAIN SHOWER. THE WIPERS STARTED WORKING AGAIN IN INTERMITTENT MODE WHEN WE RAN INTO ANOTHER RAIN SHOWER. WITHIN TWO OR THREE MINUTES, THEY STOPPED WORKING EXCEPT IN "FAST" MODE. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
