Over the air updates are a prominent feature of the car that Genesis touts. The car's firmware gets updated including operating issues, brake system and throttle campaigns, safety fixes, and navigation get updated. The updates have been a big issue. Earlier this year an OTA update wiped out every user setting including steering, adaptive cruise and other safety related settings. This was an annoyance but could be corrected in a couple of hours for each driver's settings. In June, a new OTA update was sent out that was corrupted. US vehicles had…

We drove ten miles to a local restaurant and after our meal the vehicle reported a 12-volt battery issue. After about a mile the car started to pull the car over as the battery was falling. As we were looking for a safe location to pull over, the car would no longer accelerate and would maintain 20 mph on a road that was 50 mph speed limit causing a very unsafe condition. We eventually found a safe location to pull over the car and had the car towed.

The 12 volt battery on the EV car has gone dead twice since I took delivery on the new car in January 2025. When that happens the car is completely dead and must be manually accessed to open the hood and jump start the car. The first time the car would function once jump started. The second time the car would not stay "running" and the battery had to be recharged for the car to function. This problem seems to be the same as the issue that prompted the recall of this car and others in the fall of 2024. It appears that the problem was not corr…

Last year there was a recall associated with this vehicle due to the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit). Two visits to the dealership were required to resolve the issue (November and December 2024). My vehicle was running properly until 11/17/25 PM when while freeway driving home I experienced a power failure that prompted me to immediately pull over to check the power circuit. My vehicle lost power, going from 65 mph to the 40's, and later the 20's. I was fortunately able to exit the freeway without incident and limped into a nearby d…

My Genesis EV has experienced multiple incidents where the vehicle suddenly decelerates while driving and limits its speed to approximately 20 mph, creating a significant safety hazard. The first incident occurred in September 2025, when the vehicle unexpectedly began to decelerate on its own and would not exceed ~20 mph. I brought it to the Genesis dealership, but they were unable to reproduce the issue. The second incident occurred in November 2025, with the same failure: sudden deceleration and a maximum speed of ~20 mph. I brought the vehic…

In 2023 & 2025, my vehicle had been brought into the Genesis dealership to complete NHTSA 24V868000 safety recall by receiving a new software (Service Campaigns 907G & 025G). While driving car, I heard a "pop" sound coming from the back seat, my ICCU had failed and then there was a sudden loss vehicle power and the car went into a limp mode. The car only had 5,650 miles on it. This is a serious safety hazard. The car was towed to the dealership and a new ICCU was installed. The replacement part was the same model number that had failed. I was advised by the service adviser that I could possibly experience another ICCU failure in the future.

This only happens on the cold days, and didn't happen last winter. When the display comes on, it doesn't register the miles that were driven while it was blank. Using the pre-warm climate function before staring the vehicle--so, warming up the car--will cause the instrument cluster to work even on cold days, but that shouldn't need a workaround.

On March 1, 2026, while driving at normal roadway speed on a double yellow-lined road, my 2024 Genesis GV60 Advance displayed a "Check Electric Vehicle System" warning. With less than one minute of the warning appearing, the vehicle lost propulsion and rolled to a stop. I was able to steer into a parking lot, but I was stranded miles from home. There was minimal advance warning before complete loss of drive power. The vehicle could not be driven and required towing. The vehicle previously had the ICCU recall campaign marked as complete on Jan…

While I was parking in the lot, the vehicle nearly came to a stop when it abruptly accelerated on its own. My foot was firmly planted on the brake, a standard practice at the end of the parking process. The sudden acceleration made it impossible to regain control, resulting in a collision with the parking lot sign and a small tree. I took decisive action to steer the vehicle away from the glass door of the building in front of me, but it ultimately struck the building wall to my right. This incident highlights serious safety issues, specificall…

I leased a 2023 Genesis GV60, which was misrepresented as new but had multiple safety recalls, including ICCU battery failure, AWD/powertrain malfunction, and seatbelt defects. From the start, the seatbelts didn’t secure properly, and the car failed NY state inspection, causing me to lose a job that required a safe vehicle. Despite six visits to different service centers in 3 months, no actual repairs were completed. Mechanics admitted they didn’t understand the battery defect. The recalls later disappeared from the system without resolution. …

1. Navigtion wrong directions 2. The battery charge runs out too quickly *I said several times that the brakes and driver's seat belt were strange, seat belt wasn't locked no tighter If the seat belt did not work, there was no point in wearing it, so I experienced a big disappointment. so I ended up having it serviced for the second time, but the brakes are still working. One of the three recall problems with this car is the all wheel drive powertrain system, and it seems to be known as April 2023, but I signed a contract for the second car in…

At random occurrences during car startup, the instrument cluster remains blank and can take up to several minutes to “wake up”. Since no cluster-related information such as speedometer or safety and diagnostic lights is available at this time, the car remains un-drivable until it eventually resolves. Should it occur while the car is being driven, it can pose a significant safety risk as none of the vehicle’s warning lights on the cluster are available. This problem first began to occur after the latest OTA software updated, though it’s not …

I leased a Genesis GV60 in July 2023. The car was under a stop sale order and had to be repaired before it was leased to me because of a known issue with the rear axle. The dealership performed the fix to the vehicle and then proceeded to lease me the vehicle. In January 2025 while driving approximately 40 MPH on a paved flat road, I experienced a sudden thud and loss of power. When I applied pressure to the accelerator a loud angry noise came from the back of the vehicle. Smoke and a burning smell came from the back of the vehicle. There wer…

On 3/5/2025 I was driving my car and accelerating to 45 miles per hour when the Stop vehicle and check power supply warning on my car showed on the dash followed by a loud and starting audible tone. I pulled over to check the car and it still worked well. I then went home and tried to charge the vehicle off of our level 2 charger and the vehicle would not start to charge. I brought the car to the dealer the next day after charging the 12 volt battery overnight. I charged the 12 volt battery because the car was no longer charging it as the charg…
