I do not have an official communication from the dealer who is servicing my vehicle. However, they have had my vehicle for almost 3 weeks and they tell me that the engine has failed and needs complete replacement. They said the engine lost compression and quit running, it now cranks and does not start. Although the engine has not been disassembled we believe the point fo failure to be in the rotating assembly of the bottom end of the engine.

Called multiple dealerships and found out there is a known problem with the valve body for the transmission in these vehicles, which mine is currently being towed today to the dealer. This is what happened to me today, I was driving with my two children on the interstate and all of a sudden I had no drive nothing so the speed reduced quickly. Well behind me there was a 18 wheeler on my back and almost ran into me because I had no more drive on my pickup. Then when it was safe to pull to the side of the road found out there is no reverse either.…

Safety became a major concern with loss of power in the mids of a flow off traffic at freeway speeds. Vehicle had to be towed.

The only way to get the heater to work on your feet is to turn off defrost, turn on only feet, turn on AC and sync both sides. I live in North Idaho and when you do this your windshield fogs up and freezes. I have taken this to the dealership and was state "Works as designed by GMC". To me this is unacceptable. I was told by dealer that I had broken exhaust manifold studs at a previous oil change. While driving the truck it seemed to lose power for a short time but I was in traffic and assumed the loss of power at that time was related to a possible exhaust leak.I scheduled a appointment to have the repairs addressed. Dear Sir, I currently own a 2017 GMC Denali that had a potentially catastrophic failure with one of the alloy wheels that are on my vehicle. Mileage about 110,000 I recently went to have new tires installed on my vehicles when the tire shop manager came from the work area and said that he could not put a new tire on my one wheels. The reason the tire store could not put a tire on that wheel is because two of the spokes on the alloy wheel were broken. There were three spokes between the broken spokes. The are 12 spokes on the wheel and the…

I had an engine rebuilt completed on my L86 2017 GMC 6.2. After the repair, the engine failed due to the crank shaft on the engine being oversized which is the same problem that GM is having with the L87 engines. When the crank was ordered from the dealer for my L86, the only part number for the crank that was available was the new part number that was being used in the L87. Seems the same cranks were used in both engines and this recall on the L87 should be extended to anyone that had a rebuilt complete. Me and my family were left on the s…

The catastrophic power failure with no warning on my 2017 GMC Sierra, at 87450 miles completely contaminated the engine oil cooling lines with metallic debris and fractured structural mounts. The servicing dealership replaced the transmission but is refusing to remediate the engine line contamination without out-of pocket payment. The vehicle cannot be safely operated without causing terminal engine failure on the highway, creating a imminent mechanical and traffic safety hazard.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Service trailer brakes light pops up and chimes over and over again. I've never pulled a trailer. It's distracting and will randomly go off. Seems to go off when gas is below 1/4 tank. Sometimes it goes months without happening. Sometimes it happens a few days in a row. The dealership says they can't do anything unless they see it go off.

THE VEHICLE WHICH HAS UNDER SEVEN HUNDRED MILES ON IT DOES THE FOLLOWING: WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE STARTS TO MISFIRE, STARTS TO CHUG AND JERK, IT STARTS TO HESITATE AND BECOMES ROUGH. WHEN I CALLED GMC SERVICE DEPARTMENT I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A CODE FOR THIS PROBLEM #PIP5457B BUT THAT CURRENTLY THERE IS NO KNOWN REASON AND NO KNOWN REPAIR AND NO KNOWN COMPUTER CODE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. I TRIED TO MERGE ONTO THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND NEEDED TO SPEED UP BUT THE TRUCK STARTED TO LURCH; I NEARLY GOT REAR ENDED. I CAN'T DRIVE UP A H…

UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO COME TO A STOP THE VEHICLE WILL OCCASIONALLY ENGAGE A LOWER GEAR VERY SUDDENLY AND LURCH FORWARD. THE RESULTING FORCE IS ENOUGH TO OVERPOWER THE BRAKING EFFORT BEING PROVIDED BY THE DRIVER AND THE VEHICLE WILL MOVE FORWARD SEVERAL FEET BEFORE THE DRIVER CAN REACT AND APPLY MORE BRAKING FORCE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE ISSUE OCCURS RANDOMLY AND INFREQUENTLY AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS (5-10MPH). THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE IVE BEEN BRAKING TO STOP AT A STOP LIGHT AND BEEN FORCED INTO THE MIDDLE …

I WAS TURNING AROUND A CURB AT A FAST FOOD WHEN SUDDENLY THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED OUT OF MY HANDS THE OPPOSITE WAY I WAS TURNING THE SLIGHTLY BACK AGAIN. WHEN I TRIED TO REGAIN CONTROL IT DID IT AGAIN. I PAUSED AND WAS THEN PERMITTED TO COMPLETE MY TURN. I THEN EXPERIENCED IT AGAIN ABOUT A WEEK LATER WHILE BACKING INTO A PARKING SPOT. UPON COMPLETION OF MY APPOINTMENT I IMMEDIATELY DROVE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I HAD PURCHASED THE TRUCK NEW A YEAR AGO AND INQUIRED OF ANY RECALLS OR PROBLEMS OF THE STEERING DOING THIS AND THE SERVICE G…

TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER WHO WAS LUCKILY CLOSE BY. THEY TESTED TRUCK BRAKE'S AND FOUND THE SAME THING. THEY KEPT TRUCK, AND REPAIRED THE NEXT DAY. MASTER CYLINDER WAS BAD. THEY BELIEVE THAT A SEAL MAY HAVE A CRACK,OR A NICK IN IT, ALLOWING PRESSURE TO RELEASE. THE DEALER SAID MORE THAN LIKELY GM WILL ASK FOR PART TO EXAMINE IT, SO THEY CAN'T TAKE IT APART…

THE VEHICLE HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND I HAVE BEEN CHARGED A CO-PAY WITH THE REPAIRS ON THE VEHICLE. THE ISSUES STARTED AFTER THE 30000 MILE SERVICE.

I was test driving this 2017 Sierra 1500 SLT and experienced issues while braking. Issues with brakes as the vacuum level drops the brake assist decreases which meant I had to use excessive force to get the vehicle to stop. No warning light, nothing to tell me there is a low pressure brake. This could result in a fatality if a small animal or child walks/runs in front of the truck while truck is moving forward or backwards at low speeds. The dealer doesn’t acknowledge any recall on this vehicle because it isn’t noted as such with GM. I worry th…
