Trailer brake controller that is built into the truck intermittently works when towing a trailer. I will be towing down the road and all of a sudden I will get a warning on my gauge display that says “check trailer wiring” and the light that indicates that the trailer brakes are working goes out. Meanwhile, all of the lights on the trailer still work. After about one second, another message appears and says “trailer brakes connected” and the light on the brake controller comes back on. [XXX]: After arriving home and parking in my driveway (plugged in the block heater that came installed from the factory), approximately 35 minutes later my neighbor rang the doorbell. She was yelling that my truck was on fire! The flames were starting to hit my eaves on my house. I put the fire out with my hose. The Sparks Fire Department had to pry open my hood to disconnect the batteries in order to stop the truck from lighting back on fire. The vehicle has been inspected by General Motors and turned over to their insurance. My insurance has …

Hello, I purchased a 2022 GMC Sierra AT4 2500 in August of 2022. I then purchased a 2022 Alliance Avenue 30RLS in September of 2022. The first time we took the Alliance Avenue out on a camping trip (October 2022), we had brake controller issues. The brake controller would suddenly disconnect and I would have an error on the screen saying that the controller was no longer connected, and the light would go off on the brake controller on the dashboard. At this point, we had no trailer brakes. This issue happened several times, and the contro…

The transmission valve body assembly was replaced and the failure was remedied. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,334.

Concerning Goodyear Wrangler Trailrunner AT P275/65/20 tires that came stock with my 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD, which currently has 42,000 miles on it. While driving a round trip of no more than 30 miles the evening of 11/29/24, I noticed a slight repetative jaring motion, which I initially attributed to a potential transmission issue. The bump rapidly worsened halfway though the drive. Upon inspection at the time, I could not see any visible damage to the tire. However, the issue escalated aggressively during my return home, resulting in the tir…

Brake pads have excessive squealing. Squealing implies incorrect pressure to rotor to stop the vehicle, which highly concerns me as an operator. According to the dealer where I reported the issue, there is a technical bulletin that approves replacement of the brake pads for free if reported in first 7500 miles. My truck exceeded that mileage when I noticed the squealing. If this was a recall for the defective brakes, the dealer would cover the costs to repair, but not for a technical bulletin according to the service department, and confirmed…

When attached to a trailer with solar panels, the truck will intermittently disconnect the trailer electronics which disables the trailer brakes and trailer lights. This is because the solar energy is back flowing to the truck via 7 pin connector and overloading the circuit. Having a truck disable the trailer brakes and lights intermittently is very dangerous. Earlier model years of this truck do not suffer this issue. GM is aware and has TSB but no solution has been found on the truck side without disabling the solar panels on the trailer.

My truck wonders down the highway. It has been to the dealership well over 4 times. They have aligned the truck multiple times, changed the steering gear box, changed the power steering pump, changed tires and nothing fixes it. It takes constant adjusting of the steering to stay in my lane on any road. Quite pitiful for a $90,000 truck. I was driving my 2022 GMC 2500 HD (not towing, just normal drive) after an oil change <900 miles ago and new brakes/rotors 3 days prior <100 miles (total mileage 81,000, serviced exclusively at GMC dealership) when the loss of power alert flashed on the screen. I was 2 miles from my destination, going approx 55mph, so I kept driving to destination, when the vehicle stalled in driveway. As I was scrolling through menus to see the alert I looked up and smoke and flames were coming out of the engine. I attempted to extinguish with a fire exting…

The engine failed. The 2022 GMC Denali had 12,000 miles on it. This was a brand new truck. We were driving home at night the engine began to make noise and then cut off in the middle of the road. The dealer has recommended a new engine from the GMC Manufacturer. The manufacturer has not yet responded to the dealerships request. The engine light did come on prior to…
