AS A MINIVAN IN FRONT OF ME PUT THEIR LEFT TURN SIGNAL ON LATE, I HAD TO HIT MY BRAKES QUICKLY AND WHEN I DID MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I WAS PUMPING AIR AND HAD NO BRAKES AT ALL. I SWIRVED AROUND THE VAN AND LUCKILY I WAS ON AN INCLINED ROAD AS I WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN INTO A LOT AND THEN PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO GET THE TRUCK STOPPED. MY FRONT AND BACK BRAKE LINE BLEW OUT AND MY MECHANIC SAID I WAS LUCKY THAT I WASN'T KILLED. NOW THE TRUCK IS NOT USABLE AND THE AFTER 52,000 MILES I FEEL THIS IS A SITUATION OF DE…

WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET, THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED WHEN I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL (IT WENT TO THE FLOOR) AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP. I LOST ALL NORMAL BRAKING ABILITY AND HAD TO STOP BY DOWN SHIFTING AND APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. WHEN I GOT THE TRUCK STOPPED AND GOT OUT, I FOUND THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS POURING OUT ONTO THE GROUND. A QUALIFIED MECHANIC INSPECTED THE TRUCK AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED THROUGH AND HAD RUPTURED. HE WENT ON TO TELL ME THAT THIS PROBLEM IS A FREQUENTLY OCCURRING KNOW PROB…

OUR CUSTOMER/INSURED WAS DRIVING HIS 2007 GMC SIERRA ON APRIL 23, 2009 WITH HIS CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT, THE AUTO STARTED ON FIRE AS HE WAS DRIVING. HE WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE AUTO WITH THE CHILD BEFORE FIRE REACHED THE INTERIOR. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND TRAVELED THROUGHOUT THE REST OF THE AUTO BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT COULD GET TO THE SCENE. OVER 3/4 OF THE AUTO WAS TOTALLY BURNED. OWNERS NAME IS JOHN CZECH. *TR
I DROVE DOWN THE STREET AND THE TRUCK STARTED SMOKING. THE SMOKE STARTED TO INCREASE SO I TURNED THE TRUCK AROUND AND PARKED IT OUT FRONT OF MY HOUSE AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN FLAMES STARTED TO APPEAR. NEEDLESS TO SAY THE TRUCK JUST BLEW UP. *TR
WHY IS GM RECALL 14121 LIMITED TO NEW VEHICLES? IT HAS BEEN A RECURRENT, COMMON PROBLEM SINCE LONG BEFORE 2000. LONG BEFORE I BOUGHT MY 2007 GMC SIERRA CLASSIC 2500HD WHICH IS ON THE THIRD REPAIR. I JUST REPLACED A TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE IN MY DRIVEWAY. TODAY. WHICH IS STEADILY ERODING BY WAY OF CONTINUOUS TRANSMISSION COOLER LEAKS. IT CONTINUOUSLY COATS THE UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE, REDUCING LIFE OF BELTS AND HOSES. GM DEALERS FEEL ITS NOT COVERED BY 5/100K POWERTRAIN WARRANTY, OR 36K BUMPER-BUMPER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT'S A LONG TIME GM PROBLEM A…

2007 GMC SIERRA CLASSIC. CONSUMER STATES BRAKES FAILURE *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAD TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO SLOWLY COME TO A STOP. THE CONSUMER OPENED THE HOOD AND DISCOVERED THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR. HE ADDED FLUID TO SEE WHERE IT WAS GOING. HE NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE LINE ON TOP OF THE CHASSIS WAS RUSTED THROUGH COMPLETELY AND THAT WAS WHERE THE FLUID WAS LEAKING. *JB

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
