The torque converter is too small for the vehicles transmission which then caused it to break and put metal into the transmission fluid. Which cause the transmission to break. My safety was at risk was because while on highway it shot high on RPMs and then made funny noise and wouldn’t go. The problem was confirmed at Aamco transmission where I have to get the transmission rebuilt. There was never a check engine light or check fluid or any codes Thrown before the problem.

We purchased the 2025 GMC Yukon XL on February 26, 2025. While I was heading out on March 24, 2025 I had a total engine failure. No warning sign or warning lamps were present. We had the vehicle towed to Hurd Auto Mall in Johnston Rhode Island where we purchased it. We were told that the engine had seized with only 1,488 miles on it. We saw that over 870,000 GMC engines from 2021-2024 had this same issue and/or have been recalled. We are curious if the 2025 model also have this problem.

I was driving 30 mph when the car went into neutral and rolled to a stop. When I put on the brakes the engine shut off and it went into park. It would not restart or shift out of park . I was stuck in an active busy road. The car was towed to the dealer. They said it was a problem with the BCM. GMC had put out a bullletin which was to reprogram the BCM. My concern is that if this had happened on a busy interstate in traffic at highway speeds the results could have been fatal.

The torque converter is too small for the vehicles transmission which then caused it to break and put metal into the transmission fluid. Which cause the transmission to break.

Luckily I was able to pull over to safety, barely. It was towed to the GMC dealership and waiting for it to be looked at. There were NO warning lights that came on previous to when this happened. I was involved in a traffic collision. A large vehicle turned left in front of me and I t boned that vehicle. We were traveling about 30-35 MPH at the moment of impact. My vehicle sustained major damage ($20,000+) to repair according to the body shop. My wife, daughter and myself sustained injuries. My wife and I have significant injuries. I truly believe, based on vehicle damages, and injuries that our airbags should’ve deployed. I believe it has a fault sensor that should be inspected.

I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN A LITTLE BY PUMPING MY BREAKS, BUT THE WHEEL GAVE A SHARP PULL TO THE LEFT FOR NO REASON. I WAS TRAVELING APPROX 60-70 MPH WHEN I FELT A STRONG PULL TO THE LEFT HAND SIDE AND MY SEAT STARTED TO VIBRATE. I COULDN'T CONTROL THE STEERING AND INFORMED EVERYONE IN THE VEHICLE AT THAT TIME THAT WE WERE GOING TO CRASH. I AM POSITIVE THAT THIS DEFECT IN THE STEERING/BREAKING SYSTEM RESULTED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. IF TH…

Catastrophic engine failure to the GM 6.2L engine. Mechanical issue - cam or crankshaft came apart. Safety to myself and/or others as I was driving on the road in traffic when the issue occurred and had complete loss of power. I was able to avoid traffic and get the SUV to the shoulder of the road. The issue was confirmed by my auto service provider. No warning lamps or messages prior to failure. Once failure occurred, the check engine light started to blink.

Multiple times upon starting my Yukon I get a message on the dash that states Power steering disabled drive with care. I have no power steering until the computer has enough time to reset itself, usually about 15 min. This issue has been confirmed at our shop with the code being for the power steering. We have had it into the dealership and they found the same code but were unable to get it to recreate for them. It is not something that happens every day so I would have to leave it with them for a long period of time and that is not an option. …

I noticed that GM has a recall for 2021 year models for this very same problem. I'm…

ODI 11590691

GM vehicles manufactured between 2015 – 2019 equipped with GM’s 8-speed transmission are equipped with a defective transmission design of GM’s Hydra-Matic 8L90 transmission or Hydra-Matic 8L45 transmission, which causes vehicles to suddenly lurch forward, shudder, and experience significant delays in acceleration. GM not only knew about this pervasive issue but developed a fix for it in 2018 – namely a transmission flush it calls Mod1a. However, GM made the business decision in 2019 to forgo recalling all impacted vehicles (approximately 2 mi…
