17V211000 · Service Brakes, Air
Reported: 2017-03-27 (March 27, 2017) · Model years: 2018
Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2018 Everest SS refrigerated trailers. A plug for the front brake chamber service port may not have been properly tightened, possibly reducing the service brake pressure.
Consequence: A reduction of service brake pressure can lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Great Dane will tighten the diagnostic tee pipe plug or remove the tee. The recall began on April 28, 2017. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-912-232-4471.

Reported: 2017-10-03 (October 3, 2017) · Model years: 2018
Great Dane Trailers (Great Dane) is recalling certain 2018 Everest trailers manufactured with MPA/MTA suspensions equipped with Meritor EX225 brakes. The brake caliper bolts on these axles may not be properly torqued which can allow the caliper to detach from the mounting flange.
Consequence: If the caliper bolts are improperly torqued and the caliper detaches from the mounting flange, a loss of braking ability would occur, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: Great Dane will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the caliper mounting bolts, replacing any loose or missing ones, free of charge. The recall began on December 1, 2017. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect and repair the support gear bracing mount as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 16, 2024. Owners may contact Great Dane customer service at 1-877-369-3493.

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
Equal-age model-year comparison
Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
