SUB STANDARD TIRES, ON JULY 21, 2004 I HAD A BLOW OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WHEEL, OF MY FIFTH WHEEL TRAVEL TRAILER. I DID NOT THINK ANYTHING ABOUT THE BLOW OUT OTHER THAN I HAVING BAD LUCK, THE TRAILER IS A 2003 MAKE MADE BY GULF STREAM. SO I JUST HAD THE TIRE REPLACED AND REPAIRED THE DAMAGE TO THE TRAILER. I HAD THE TIRE REPAIRED BUT DID NOT SAVE THE OLD TIRE. IN SEPTEMBER WE TOOK ANOTHER CAMPING TRIP, WELL ON THE WAY I HAD ANOTHER BLOW OUT ON THE SAME SIDE BUT THE FRONT TIRE CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE, THIS IS NO FREAK INCIDENT I HAD THE…

WHEN OPENING THE DOOR OF THE RV, YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE TO USE THE SPACER (6") TO HOLD THE DOOR IN PLACE, BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T THE PROPANE WATER HEATER EXHAUST LOCATED BEHIND THE DOOR ONCE OPEN WILL MELT OR BURN THE DOOR, EVEN WHEN THE SPACER IS ON IT, STILL WILL MELT THE DOOR DEPENDING IF IT IS WINDY OR NOT. IN JUNE 2003 WE FIRST REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THE DEALER, THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THE MANUFACTURER COULD DO, SO IN NOVEMBER 2003 THEY CHANGE THE DOOR BECAUSE IT WAS MELTED WHERE THE EXHAUST WAS AND THEY ADD ON A 12" SPACER BELIEVING THAT THI…

I HAD COOPER ROADMASTER LT 245 75 R 16 AS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON MY FIFTH WHEEL TRAILER. FROM THE DOT NUMBER, I BELIEVE THAT THESE TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED IN JANUARY, 2001. THE TIRES HAVE LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON THEM. TIRES WERE INFLATED TO MAXIMUM PRESSURE (80 PSI), AND TRAILER HAD BEEN WEIGHED AT A PUBLIC SCALE TO ENSURE THAT IT WAS BELOW THE MAXIMUM CARRYING CAPACITY OF THE TIRES. ON JULY 13, I EXPERIENCED THE FIRST "BLOW OUT" WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. THE TREAD SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE, CAUSING PROPERTY DAMA…

I PURCHASED A RV, 5TH WHEEL, ON 4/25/02. IT CAME WITH CARLISLE ST225/75R15 LOAD RANGE C TIRES. THE DOT MANUFACTURING DATE WAS 4501. WHEN RETURNING HOME FROM A VACATION ON SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2005 HAD A BLOWOUT ON ONE OF THE TIRES. I HAVE ALWAYS MAINTAINED THE RECOMMEND TIRE PRESSURE (50#), AND CHECKED THEM OFTEN FOR DEFECTS. THE INSIDE WALL SEPARATED FROM THE TREAD, AND THE OUTSIDE WALL HAD A 10" HOLE AND TREAD SEPARATION. THE BLOWN TIRE NEVER RODE ON THE GROUND IT WAS SUPPORTED AND SUSPENDED BY THE WHEEL IN FRONT OF IT. THESE TIRES HAVE 7200 M…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
