I just got home from the scariest ride on my bike ever! I pulled off the freeway (thank god!)and was driving along a busy street when my bike started bucking like a bronco. I was almost thrown off. I was trying to downshift & up shift and whatever I could to gain control. The front brake was locked up. I am so lucky that someone didn’t slam into the back of me and I was also lucky I wasn’t on the freeway. This bike has a close recall on it but I don’t believe it was actually fixed or if it was fixed, if this is going to keep happening. I was lu…

REAR BRAKE PEDAL GOES DOWN WITH NO STOPPING. LINKED REAR AND FRONT BRAKES. FRONT BRAKE LEVER STOPS FINE. THIS HAPPENED 2-17-2017 WITH 132 MILES ON THE TRIKE. HAPPENED STATIONARY, IN MOTION AND ON CITY STREETS. PUMPING PEDAL HAD NO EFFECT. PICKED UP BY DEALER SAID THAT THEY BLED THE BRAKES. BRAKES FIXED. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE REAR MASTER CYLINDER ON SOME OF THE 2015 TRI GLIDE TRIKES. POSSIBLY USING THE SAME DEFECTIVE REAR MASTER CYLINDER. WILL SEE IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN.

I HAD PREVIOUSLY NOTICED SLIGHT JERKING WHEN RELEASING CLUTCH AND GETTING UNDERWAY, BUT BLAMED IT ON OPERATOR ERROR.. THE AMOUNT OF TEETH MISSING COULD HAVE LED TO A CATASTROPHIC LOSS OF POWER. The contact owns a 2016 Harley-Davidson FLRT Freewheeler. The contact stated that while riding 60 MPH, the front wheel had seized with smoke coming from the front tire after the handlebar brake was released. The motorcycle was taken to the dealer on two separate occasions where the calipers, rotors, and brake pads were replaced twice; however, the failure recurred. The motorcycle was then taken to Seacoast Harley-Davidson (17 Lafayette Rd, North Hampton, NH 03862) where the dealer replaced the rotors, brake pads, and front and rear master cylin…

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
