1st time start bike to go ride , pulled break lever, it completely collapsed. Took to dealer as it was new they said routine maintenance. Bike was less than 1 yr old. Now the bike is 3 years old , went to go ride started bike brake lever has collapsed again. First time the bike had less than 2000 miles , I now have 7000 miles on it and there is no reason for this continual defect. I have a certified motorcycle technician that lives beside me and even he says it’s a factory defect and is going to hurt someone. I have been riding motorcycles sin…

While riding at highway speed in the left lane the motorcycle began to lose power, proceeded by a loud grinding sound coming from the engine. After finding a way out of a life threatening situation I exited the highway and towed the bike home. It appears that no oil was getting to the top of the engine causing the engine failure at high speed.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.
