Harley-Davidson knowingly did not coat the inside of the aluminum fuel tanks on 2023 and older model Pan Americas, leading to rust and particle breakdown from ethanol exposure. Those particles have led to fuel pump failure and replacement, but replacing the fuel pump is only a temporary fix as the tank will continue to rust and cause the same failure and replacement loop for the life-cycle of the bike. This issue has been reported by hundreds of Pan America owners in the lower 48, where ethanol is used as a fuel additive. Harley should recall a…

The vehicle engine shuts down at highway speed. The dealer has made three attempts to correct this issue, but it has not been successfully corrected. While operating the vehicle, the engine simply turns off. I demanded to see the engine codes and found the motorcycle's run circuit malfunctions causing the engine to turn off. I was told by the dealer's lead mechanic at the dealer that any electrical issue with any part of the vehicle would cause the entire system to shut down. This has happened on multiple occasions very nearly leading to m…

Bike has been at the dealer for almost 3 weeks now chasing electrical issues. HD corporate techs can’t even understand what’s wrong. The are running another diagnostic test on it today that will cost me another 3.5hr of labor on top of the other diagnostics they’ve already done. Luckily I wasn’t on a trip and stranded for weeks.

In my case the amp gauge went below 12 and the battery light came on while riding in traffic. Even while running the engine at high RPM's the amp's won't reach 12 (positive charging). My motorcycle died while idling at two traffic lights. I was able to get it restarted and make it home before the battery completely drained. This caused a loss of engine power and the motorcycle engine stalled as I was riding down the road.
