AS I EXITED THE FREEWAY, I APPROACHED A RED LIGHT AND THE ROADSTER JUST SHUT OFF AND THE BIKE SEIZED. HAD I NOT QUICKLY PRESSED THE CLUTCH I WOULD'VE LOST CONTROL. THEN THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND THE SECURITY LIGHTS TURNED ON. I TRIED TO TURN THE MOTORCYCLE ON AND IT WAS HAVING TROUBLE STARTING. IT FINALLY STARTED BUT AS SOON AS I WOULD THROTTLE THE ACCELERATOR THE MOTORCYCLE WOULD SHUT OFF. THE BIKE CONTINUED TO HAVE THE INDICATOR LIGHTS ON. Harley Davidson knows about the the defective oil pump in many if their models dating back as far as 2015. They continued to install that same oil pump anyway until 2019! My 2017 Sportster only has 6635 miles on it and it is "sumping", which means it's not allowing the oil to flow back into the crankcase. The oil is blowing out of my oil cap! With no oil going back into the crankcase, my motor will seize and destroy itself!!!!! I want Harley Davidson to take resposibility and repair my motorcycle, which would include parts and labor.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
