ON CERTAIN MOTORHOMES, FIFTH WHEELS AND TRAVEL TRAILERS EQUIPPED WITH NORCOLD REFRIGERATOR COOLING UNITS MODEL NUMBERS 1200LR AND 1200RIM, THESE REFRIGERATORS CAN EXPERIENCE LOW CYCLE FATIGUE FAILURE WHICH CAN LEAD TO THE LIQUID SOLUTION SLOWLY LEAKING FROM THE SEALED, PRESSURIZED COOLING UNIT THROUGH A SMALL CRACK.

Consequence: IF A LEAK OCCURS AND THE UNIT IS CONTINUALLY OPERATED, HYDROGEN GAS MAY BE EXPELLED AND CAN BE IGNITED, RESULTING IN A FIRE, POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

Remedy: NORCOLD WILL NOTIFY ITS CUSTOMERS AND PROVIDE A REPLACEMENT COOLING UNIT FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT NORCOLD SERVICE CENTER AT 1-800-667-3005 OR MONACO AT 574-862-7211.

Remedy: MONACO IS WORKING WITH NORCOLD TO REPAIR THESE REFRIGERATORS. NORCOLD WILL PROVIDE THERMAL SWITCH KITS TO OWNERS ALONG WITH THE NECESSARY FORMS AND INSTRUCTIONS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 29, 2008. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NORCOLD AT 1-800-767-9101 OR MONACO AT 1-800-685-6545.

ON CERTAIN MOTOR HOMES BUILT ON WORKHORSE CHASSIS AND EQUIPPED WITH GM 8.1L V8 ENGINES, IMPROPER HARDENING DURING THE HEAT TREATMENT PROCESS CAN CAUSE THE FUEL RAIL PULSE DAMPER RETAINER CLIP TO FRACTURE, RESULTING IN INADEQUATE RETENTION OF THE DAMPER. IF THE DAMPER BECOMES LOOSE, FUEL COULD BE PUMPED BY THE FUEL PUMP INTO THE UNDER HOOD AREA.

Consequence: IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, A FIRE COULD RESULT.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE BACK-UP MONITOR TO VERIFY THE OPERATION OF THE MONITOR FREE OF CHARGE. IF THE MONITOR IS OPERATING PROPERLY, THE REPAIR WILL CONSIST OF REPLACING THE INCORRECT SCREW WITH THE SPECIFIED SCREW AND TESTING FOR PROPER OPERATION. This is for a 2022 Holiday Rambler Admiral 28a motorhome. While driving my dashboard started to move and make a lot of noise. After I returned home I took it to have someone look at it. They informed me that the welds that hold the motorhome to the frame were all breaking and the steel was musrooming from the weight. I talked to REV which is the manufacturer and they told me they decline to participate in fixing this very serious issue. Basically the house part of the motorhome could detach from the frame causing serious injury or death to me …

I OWN A 2007 HOLIDAY RAMBLER ADMIRAL MOTORHOME WITH A CAREFREE ECLIPSE ELECTRICALLY OPERATED AWNING ON THE RIGHT SIDE. ON OUR TRIP OUT, WHILE DRIVING, I NOTICED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR THAT THE AWNING ARMS WERE SLIGHTLY AJAR. THEY WERE FULLY CLOSED EARLIER IN THE DAY. AFTER ARRIVING AT OUR DESTINATION, I OPENED THE AWNING. FROM THE ONE QUARTER OPEN POSITION IT SNAPPED QUICKLY TO THE FULL OPEN POSITION- I.E., NOT UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE ELECTRIC OPENING MOTOR. A VISUAL CHECK BY ME CONFIRMED THE GEAR MECHANISM WAS TURNING THE ROD ATTACHED TO…

I WAS GOING TO FILL THE PROPANE TANK ON MY 2002 HOLIDAY RAMBLER ADMIRAL (MOTORHOME) WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE MOUNTING BRACKET THAT ATTACHES THE PROPANE CYLINDER TO THE MOTORHOME FRACTURED IN TWO PLACES. THE FRACTURES OCCUR AT THE BOLTING POINTS WHERE THE PROPANE CYLINDER ATTACHES TO THE ANGLE IRON MOUNTING BRACKETS. THERE WAS A FRACTURE IN THE ANGLE IRON AT THE FORWARD INBOARD AND REAR OUTBOARD LOCATIONS. HAD I BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HAD ONE MORE FAILURE THE PROPANE CYLINDER WOULD HAVE BEEN DRAGGING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. I CALLED HOLIDAY…

MAJOR GAS LEAK AT FUEL FILTER IN NOV 03 AND FEB 04 AT SAME LOCATION. FUEL WAS RUNNING OUT OF BRAIDED LINE NEXT TO FILTER. GAS WAS HITTING PLATE THAT IS ABOVE EXHAUST PIPE. IF THIS PLATE WAS NOT THERE, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN A MAJOR FIRE BOTH TIMES. SUPPOSEDLY THE PLATE IS DESIGNED FOR TO KEEP WIRES FROM HOT EXHAUST. WE HAD 3700 MILES ON FIRST LEAK AND 5200 AT SECOND LEAK. *AK

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
