Owner report 10401291 · 2011-05-17 (May 17, 2011)
I OWN A 2006 HOLIDAY RAMBLER SAVOY 29BHS TRAVEL TRAILER. I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING STRANGE ISSUES WITH THE 12V WIRING SYSTEM. UPON DIAGNOSIS I DISCOVERED THAT THE MANUFACTURER ATTACHED THE WIRE HARNESS TO A ROTATING DRIVE BAR ON THE SLIDE OUT CAUSING THE WIRES TO TWIST AND UNTWIST EACH TIME THE SLIDE OUT IS EXTENDED AND RETRACTED. THUS TANGLING AND STRETCHING LIVE 12V WIRES TO THE POINT OF FAILURE AND CAUSING THEM TO TEAR AND SHORT. MINE DID NOT CATCH FIRE, BUT I COULD SEE A SCENARIO WHERE A WIRE THAT HAS HAD THE INSULATION STRETCHED OFF OF IT…

Emerging complaint spikes
Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.
This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.
No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Date coverage across each selected cohort
| Year | Incident dates used | Filing date fallbacks | Excluded dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2006 | 2 | 0 | 0 |
Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
