Sudden loss of braking power on June 29, 2026, with sudden brake warnings. We had the same error after taking delivery of the vehicle in September 2025. The dealership repaired the vehicle (brake sensor). We have another dealer appointment on July 6, 2026 to repair this again. Very concerning from a safety perspective that this is occurring again.

I LEASED A BRAND NEW CR-V AND 12 HOURS AFTER I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP IT MALFUNCTIONED. WHILE DRIVING 7 MPH IN MY APARTMENT COMPLEX MY BRAKES AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP CAUSING ME TO BUMP INTO A CONCRETE SIDEWALK BARRIER. MY COMPUTER SYSTEM ALERTED ME TO SYSTEM FAILURES FOR POWER STEERING, BRAKING, AWD, ETC. THE ONLY DAMAGE WAS SCUFFED UP TIRES AND HUBCAPS. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID I WRECKED THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS NO MALFUNCTION. THEY ALSO SAID THE WHEEL ROD WAS BENT TO A 90 DEGREE ANGLE. I FIND IT VERY CONCERNING THA…

Vehicle is 3,000 miles outside of warranty, and showed no signs of issues. Starting the car, the driver wheel was locked and all systems complaint of failure. The vehicle could start and drive but the driver wheel required all strength to turn. Taking the vehicle to a Honda Dealership they said the problem was a rack and pinion with an estimate of +$5,300 (not including taxes). This seems to be an abnormal type of repair so close out of warranty.

Steering wheel issue: I had a similar issue with my old 22 Civic. Now it's a known and common problem, it's hard to make small adjustments. It may not be related to the speed or the use of LKAS. There is no warning on the dashboard. Brake pedal: Randomly I feel friction on the pedal when I press it. Like the steering wheel issue it starts to happen and disappears. No warning messages. LKAS giving false warnings, especially when going backwards.

Power system problem light started coming on soon after we bought the car new. It has been towed to Barber Honda in Bakersfield many times- it dies, won’t start. It is on the 3rd battery within 1st year. The last incident was 10/23/23 the car suddenly lost all power in an area of mountains- I was stranded without cell phone service, it was dangerous. Finally had it towed again- this time they replaced the fuel pump. We have had a lawyer since 4/4/23 and Honda has refused to do anything to about this car! I am scared to drive it.

In April 2022, my dad purchased a brand new Honda CRV 2022 hybrid touring edition. This car was deemed as one of the safest cars on the market and was his main intent while buying it. This is a complaint about the unresolved recall that I have been put on a waitlist for many months now. The Dealership said that Honda will mail me when the parts will be ready for repaired, but it’s been many months since the NHTSA saying the remedy is available. My appointment with the dealership had been canceled the last minute by my dealership after a promise of a mailing notice, but time has flew long enough.

2021 Honda CRV Hybrid. 11/9/22: When accelerating to merge onto a highway, moving at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle rapidly decelerated as driver tried to accelerate (went into limp mode), the check engine light came on and the engine made a continuous clattering sound. The vehicle would not go above 15 mph in 55-60 mph traffic. Driver put flashers on and drove 1/2 a mile to the first exit, lucky he could move to the right lane. Vehicle was driven 1.5 miles home at 15 mph and lower. Didn't drive car on 11/10/22. Car driven to dealership o…

I hit a deer with my car and pulled over to emergency lane. I had a hard time to make the car stop rolling. I pressed brake, emergency brake, car was stuck in neutral. I thought car was stopped and got of car . Car began rolling and i was holding onto passenger door handle and I could not open door to jump in and stop car. I had to let it go and it went into the lane on the highway and stop finally.. Luckily no one hit the car or got hurt. I had to stay seated in the car with my foot on brake with a cop behind me until a tow truck arrive…

Yesterday, temporarily, the car would not move when placed in gear. It was parked in our car port. Everything seemed to be normal until the car was placed in reverse (R). Pressure on the gas pedal produced no response. Putting the car in drive (D) also produced no response. All the settings seemed normal, no brake lock engaged etc. Powering the car off and then back on did not improve the situation until about the third attempt, when spontaneously the car resumed normal functions. The safety risk is that there are times when in an emerge…

Car was parked on flat ground, and I turned on the car and put it into reverse. The reverse sound started and the reverse camera displayed on the screen as normal, but when I pressed the accelerator, the car drove forward instead of back. I put the car in park then back to Reverse, but the same thing happened. I turned the car off, then started again, and after that it reversed normally again.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

Incident date is preferred when valid and no later than filing; otherwise filing date is used. Model year approximates age. Equal observation time does not adjust for sales, distance driven or reporting delays. One complaint linked to multiple model years can appear in each cohort.
