Same issue as the 2012 CRV recalls of the passenger aide lock actuators. The passenger door lock works sometimes but the car will constantly try to lock that door if it is unlocked, because it won’t always lock. The dealership isn’t sure, I wonder if it’s a fuse because I hear the entire mechanism when it works. Also, it works with the drivers side child safety control which turns off the controls on the passengers side and also keeps it locked so someone cant jump in your cat when you unlock the drivers door. In 2010 to 2016 Honda CR-Zs the exterior door handles will fail without any symptoms. Leaving the driver unable to unlatch the door without being inside. The problem has not been addressed by Honda, but many owners have reported it being a common problem. The door handle latch tends to break under hot or cold environments and under light to heavy stress when attempting to open the door

My driver’s side door handle has broken. I have the broken handle if you need it. It’s a safety issue because it delays entering the car from the driver’s side, which could endanger an owner or a passenger who needs to get inside the vehicle. Apparently, this is a known problem in CR-Zs and is often blamed on the car being in a hot climate (spoiler alert: It’s getting hotter these days). My car had less than 75,000 miles on it at the time the handle broke. I have been driving since 1978, and I’ve never dealt with a broken handle before. I have …

Poor Design to Door handles that melt in heat and you cannot enter the car except through the hatch! This should be a voluntary recall where Honda pays for the repairs to door handles that melt on the 2015 Honda CRZ as a known issue. The known issue states extreme cold also causes the plastics to become brittle and break. Honda dealership wants in excess of $1000 to "diagnose" the known problem and repair. The replacement parts are after market and cost $23.00 per door plus shipping. Honda should cover this cost!

The outside door handles are defective, and Honda is aware of the issue. In warm or hot weather, the door opening mechanism binds up, and eventually the stress is too great and it causes the door handle to break. The problem has been reported by nearly every CR-Z owner. For more incidents, please visit [XXX] This defect creates a significant safety issue as if both door handles are inoperable, the alternative is to crawl in through the rear hatch, climb up to the cabin, and open the door by operating the inside door handle. Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.
