Rack and Pinion failing. Jerky and hard steering. I took it in to Honda and they told me it was the rack and pinion and the part wouldn’t be in until May 2023. They continued to have me drive it and told me it was safe to drive.

i have a 2023 HRV AWD. We test drove it and bought it with the lane assist on. We had never had a vehicle with lane assist and thought it was something we needed to get accustomed to using. It grew irritating so I turned it off. We soon realized it was something else. The steering would stick and jerk. This vehicle is unsafe to drive and cannot be driven in rain or snow. We reported it in January and were told Honda is aware of the issue and working to fix it. In March I took it in for service and asked what was taking so long. They wanted to …

On the dashboard warnings started to flash “Brake” with nothing in it view and has ATTEMPTED to even brake by itself with nothing in front of it or anything that could affect it. I then still had the 2 warning safety features pop up also so I took to the dealer for a second time and they said there was a problem with the battery and replaced it under warranty. Several times a gas smell has come through the vents of this car. It happens generally after running for at least 1hr and 30 min. The last time it occurred, we drove for 30 min, let it idle for around 30 min, and then drove another 30 min back home. The smell came through the vents around 10 min away from home on a back road with no one around. The smell lasted around 5 minutes. I took this to two Honda dealerships and they could not find a problem. There are several lawsuits against Honda for this exact thing, but in the CRV models. It is a…

We purchased this HR-V last year for my son. He has been driving it back and forth to school at a max of 35mph most of the time. We had to drive to Birmingham and probably the first time actually at speeds of 55mph or more. The steering didn't feel right. it seemed as if it was sticking in it's current position and took more effort to turn it, When it would finally turn it felt like it would ratchet over. I watched it carefully throughout the drive. When we got home, I took the vehicle in to the dealer for its first service, to accomplish a saf…

The sun visor (Driver side) has become difficult to operate. Also, the sun visor does not close flush to the cabin roof. The sun visor is not operating as it should. I reached out to Honda but since there is no recall and this repair is outside of the warranty period, they will not make the repair at their cost. I do not want to purchase a new visor if Honda has not acknowledged the problem and made changes.

My 2020 HR-V only has a little over 17,500 miles. I also only put in gas from QT which is a TOP TIER GASOLINE. So I don’t know what the problem is but I am going to end up having a wreck …

At around 7am Sunday morning, I turned on the ignition and clicked on the defogger because there was condensation on the front and back windshields. I drove away, traveling through quiet residential neighborhoods. Not many people were around. About five minutes later, I heard a crashing sound. I looked up and saw the rear window had shattered. I drove to where I was going--it was a minute away. I got out the car. The entire window was in tiny pieces, with shards of glass falling off.

The steering started sticking on sept. 1st. I was driving on croatan highway in obx nc I was surprised because it never did that before. My son in law is. Honda certified mechanic. He said it was sticking. But he could not fix it because Honda needed to fix it. I took it to Honda in va. For my oil and filter change and to check steering. The mechanic said it was sticking. And filmed the inspection. There was a recall Nov. 2024 on the steering. I took it in on Jan. 18 2024 I am sending info.

Emerging complaint spikes

Complete months in the latest six months with at least 10 complaints, at least twice the preceding 12-month average, and at least three square-root deviations above that average.

This is a descriptive screening rule, not a statistical defect finding. Publicity and reporting changes can increase submissions.

No complete months meet the spike thresholds for this selection.

Equal-age model-year comparison

Model-wide cumulative reports during the first three or five calendar years, starting with the model year (age 0). Only fully elapsed windows are compared.

During a short drip in August 2023 was the first time I noticed the steering "freezing" on the highway and jolting when I tried to control it. I had to use considerable force to hold and direct the steering throughout the trip and back. Still, on the trip, it sometimes felt as if the vehicle was floating and the steering had no grip.
