I HAVE HAD MY 1995.5 HONDA PASSPORT SINCE NEW. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN WELL TAKEN CARE OF. THE BODY PANELS, INTERIOR AND ENGINE ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AT 175,000 MILES. HOWEVER, UPON INSPECTION IT WAS DEEMED AS UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE ENTIRE FRAME RUSTING OUT FROM BOTTOM UP. NO RUST ON ANY OF THE BODY PANELS, ONLY THE FRAME. I FEEL ALL YEARS OF THE PASSPORT SHOULD BE RECALLED AS MY SUV IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND CANNOT BE REPAIRED WITHOUT A FULL FRAME REPLACEMENT.

On 4-5 occasions, the auto shutoff system will shut the vehicle down at a stop light when the brake is depressed. The vehicle did not restart as normal. Husband glued the grill pieces together to keep them from overlapping.

NOTICED THAT FUEL GAUGE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY BECAUSE IT WENT EMPTY EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A TANK FULL OF GAS. IDLING FOR A LONG TIME, OR DRIVING AT VERY LOW SPEEDS FOR A LONG TIME (STOP-AND-GO IN A SEVERE TRAFFIC JAM) ALSO HAVING MOST OF THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT TURNED WILL CAUSE THE BATTERY TO GO DEAD BECAUSE THE ALTERNATOR DOES NOT ADEQUATELY CHARGE. THIS MAY BE A SAFETY PROBLEM BECAUSE DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS DURING SEVERE TRAFFIC MAY CAUSE THE BATTERY TO DISCHARGE AND THE ENGINE TO STALL; NOT ALLOWING THE ABILITY TO MOVE TO SAFE POSITION. *LA
