Owner report 11454004 · 2022-02-25 (February 25, 2022)

When entering a slight curve in the road, the steering wheel shakes and the dash says BRAKE. There is always a car in the oncoming lane, but well within its lane. I only have 1000 miles on the Ridgeline, but this has happened several times. In each instance the brakes were never applied, but it is quite unnerving. There are times when the shaking (vibrating) steering wheel is more violent which makes me think that it is close to applying the brakes. I had the same issue with my 2018 Accord. The dealer is aware but they say there is nothing wro…

Came up to a turn light, it was green. Went to make the turn and the vehicle slammed on the brakes. No car in front of me. Car behind me had to swerve to avoid hitting me because the car stopped so quickly. Lacerations to my neck from the seatbelt. After the car came to a full stop the light turned red. After light turned green again car moved forward as normal.

Equipment did not malfunction, but it behaved in a way that was not expected. Equipment available for inspection upon request. The actuation pressure of the shifter buttons is too high. Occasionally a full press on the reverse or drive buttons doesn’t shift the transmission into the expected drive mode. I pressed the reverse button, and expected the vehicle to shift to reverse, but when I applied gas it rolled forward. I was able to react quickly enough to stop the vehicle from colliding with my garage door. This happened again in the parking l…

Owner report 11515611 · 2023-04-05 (April 5, 2023)

After driving approximately 2.5 hours at 70 miles per hour, I took an exit off of the interstate and stopped at the stoplight at the bottom of the exit ramp. After about 1 minute the light turned green and I accelerated sharply and turned left. The Check Engine Light started to flash and the vehicle experienced a significant loss of power. I was unable to accelerate to match the speed of the traffic around me and created a hazard while attempting to find a safe place to pull off the road. After about 1/4 of a mile I was able to pull off the…

When stopped at a red light and idle engine auto-stop engaged the vehicle displayed battery warning light and a “Shift to Park” message on display. Vehicle had to be shifted into park and restarted manually before it could move. Your Questions: 1. Battery/Auto-stop-start system. Sure, you can inspect it. 2. Vehicle was non-responsive and immobile at a busy intersection. 3. No, the incident just happened today, but apparently the NHTSA is investigating a similar problem in the Pilot, a mechanically identical vehicle. https://wtop.com/national/…

On two seperate occasions now my 2022 Ridgeline, which has less than 5000 miles, has lost considerable power when attempting to merge onto a highway and had the check engine light start flashing. This has required me to quickly pull over off the road as I was merging and unable to get my speed up. The wireless charging pad does not work, no matter what position the phone is. I have tried with the case off, so that's not the issue. And I've also tried multiple phones. It pretends to power on and start charging but then it stops in less than a minute, even WITHOUT driving the car....so the phone has no chance to move.

I purchased a 2025 Honda Ridgeline and noticed that the turn signal is hardly audible. If you have the radio on or the windows rolled down, you will not hear the warning tone. In the infotainment system there is an adjustment that allows you to raise the volume of the warning indicator and even at the highest volume you can barely hear it. I also found that I am not alone and that this ia a common problem with some Honda models. Every other car I have ever owned made a mechanical or audio tone to warn that the signal light is active. This leaves the vehicle coasting backwards with very little steering or brakes. This happened to me and I coasted backward across a street before I could get it stopped. If a car had been coming it would have hit me sideways. I can reproduce this in drive forward or in reverse, and I reproduced this in a second 2021 Ridge Line truck. There is no warning or message.

Safety Recall for rear subframe rust was "performed" at local dealer. Quality of work was questioned in that safety recall indicated dealer would removed corrosion on said subframe and apply anti-corrosive wax. Dealer notes they applied some anti-corrosive wax and some undercoating to a small section but did not coat ALL corrosion areas they cleaned. I had area reviewed by independent repair shop who noted the area was a concern and should be coated in the near future to prevent further corrosion and damage to frame. After discussing this w…

While trying to feel for the composite bed release button underneath the tailgate with the tailgate closed, the sharp composite bed of the truck lid sliced my finger open. The manufacture should have at least chamfered the edge of the trunk lid or installed a guard or trim piece that would prevent contact with the razor-sharp fiberglass-reinforced plastic material.

Both Drivers and Passenger doors won't unlock or open without significant' force. This only occurs sometimes but has happened many times over the last year. I have had witnesses (son's) in the car when this happens. It seems like the door locking solenoid is holding the doors locked and both pulling the handle and tryin to flip the unlock switch are difficult. The risk here is in a crash or fire, someone without strength, won't be able to exit the vehicle. I video'd this on 27Apr24 (can provide if requested).

I am the owner of a 2026 Honda Ridgeline, which I have owned for approximately seven months. Since taking delivery, the vehicle has emitted a persistent, very strong chemical odor consistent with volatile organic compound (VOC) off-gassing. This is distinct from a mildew or air-conditioning-related odor; the smell is present throughout the cabin interior as well as in the truck bed well, and does not correlate with AC use. In an effort to resolve the issue, I have kept the vehicle parked outside (not in an enclosed garage), with the bed well le…

2022 Ridgeline's Auto Idle Engine Off/On activated while driving/moving. This week it occurred (Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024) on I95 in Virginia when going down hill at approximately 70 mph. The engine ceased without warning and the steering and brake pedal began to freeze up when I had eased off the gas to coast briefly down hill (in order to keep in the flow of traffic). I then gave it gas, pumping the pedal, and a couple of seconds later it recovered and started up; the Truck’s starter buzzed loudly as it restarted. I avoided an accident in traff…

I brought this vehicle in to the dealer who was familiar with the problem but responded that Honda has no resolution yet. This problem seems …

On multiple occasions at highway speeds when coasting for a few seconds roughly 50mph to 70mph, the truck begins to stall/ lose power. We thought it was related to the Auto-idle feature, but the last two events I had it turned off. This has happened 5 or 6 times to me and my wife since about six months after buying the truck. Four of the events - November 2023: [XXX] in New Jersey at ~50 mph, engine lost power, applying gas did nothing. A few seconds later it regained power and made a buzzing noise. [XXX]: On [XXX] in Virginia, going down hil…

Experienced delayed then hard shift into gear when starting from stop this caused the vehicle to sit in road for extended time then lurch forward when it finally went into gear. Also while driving heard a noise then completely lost power and there was no throttle response for 10-20 seconds. This has happened multiple times while driving on busy highway and while trying to change lanes causing the vehicle to slow down considerably before throttle re-engaged.
