Owner report 11629269 · 2024-12-06 (December 6, 2024)

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that the high beam lights turn on and off while driving 45 MPH or above at night. The contact stated that the headlights were flashing oncoming drivers. The contact had to deactivate the feature. Additionally, while driving on two occasions using the adaptive cruise control, the vehicle was braking hard. The contact was concerned about being rear-ended. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the vertical mounting…

Owner report 11653024 · 2025-04-06 (April 6, 2025)

Unsafe auto high beams. They do not come on over 45mph. They have a mind of their own and seem to always come on and off at the wrong time. Also is dangerous to the oncoming vehicles that become impaired due to the high beams coming on when another vehicle is approaching. Especially most dangerous when you are on a 2 lane highway. Also the adaptive cruise control is inconsistent and seems to be very laggy and brakes way too hard.

Owner report 11688753 · 2025-09-21 (September 21, 2025)

While driving with the Adaptive Cruise Control and the Road Departure Mitigation System engaged, then fails and disengages. The warning system indicates a problem that should be reported to the Dealer. This has happened on multiple occasions and was repaired by the dealer when the car had 254 miles by replacing the tailgate upper wiring harness and the Brake/Cruise Control switch. The part number replaced was 36750-TY0-J11 35350 SW. Since that repair, the problem has resurfaced at 4385 miles multiple times. After stopping and restarting the car…

Similar to NHTSA Case #11713532 and 11657197. The idle stop system (AIS) does not always restart causing safety risk. I have been stranded multiple times now where the Ridgeline shuts off while waiting to turn on a highway and then will not restart. Today the dash lights would go out as if the battery was completely dead. I just had this in a few weeks ago for the same issue and the dealership replaced the battery. This was only a temporary fix. It is sitting at the dealership now and they are working with Honda. Please help.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request?: The auto start stop feature failed, resulting in the vehicle lurching then dieing without any prior indication. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk?: The vehicle's lurch and sudden loss of power occurred at a red light when turning left. If I were the first car in line, it would have left me in the intersection with a 65 mph speed limit, creating the potential for a significant accident. Has the problem been reproduced or co…

Owner report 11663248 · 2025-05-27 (May 27, 2025)

Transmission delays shifting. Shifts are delayed while driving, slamming into next gear. In addition, when starting vehicle and moving from park to drive gear (forward or reverse) there can be up to a 9 second delay for the transmission to shift into gear. This even allows for the gas peddle to be depressed without any response.

1. Soft / Spongy Brakes. Brake pedal depresses 1/3 - 1/2 way to the floor before the brakes grab. I had one close call hard stop incident, and now I allow extra car lengths for safety. 2. In park, the truck rolls noticeably before the transmission lock engages. I'd estimate 3 degrees. Your foot drags noticeably if on ground. Purchased new the end of May 29, 2025 and noticed these issues immediately. Brought truck back to two different dealerships and was told it drives the same as other Ridgeline trucks twice on 6/13/25 and 7/11/25, and …

Engine "Stop/Start" turned off when trying to make a turn. When it did the steering would not move. Also when "Stop/Start" turns off it was dangerous when turning. I email Honda and they called me back. They could have it disabled but it would cost $80 and I would have to buy the part and they would install it. This is a new truck bought last month.

The wireless charging pad does not work, no matter what position the phone is. I have tried with the case off, so that's not the issue. And I've also tried multiple phones. It pretends to power on and start charging but then it stops in less than a minute, even WITHOUT driving the car....so the phone has no chance to move.

I purchased a 2025 Honda Ridgeline and noticed that the turn signal is hardly audible. If you have the radio on or the windows rolled down, you will not hear the warning tone. In the infotainment system there is an adjustment that allows you to raise the volume of the warning indicator and even at the highest volume you can barely hear it. I also found that I am not alone and that this ia a common problem with some Honda models. Every other car I have ever owned made a mechanical or audio tone to warn that the signal light is active. When the vehicle is in drive, stopped on a steep hill, and allowed to slip backward the software puts the transmission in neutral and shuts of the engine off. This leaves the vehicle coasting backwards with very little steering or brakes. This happened to me and I coasted backward across a street before I could get it stopped. Safety Recall for rear subframe rust was "performed" at local dealer. Quality of work was questioned in that safety recall indicated dealer would removed corrosion on said subframe and apply anti-corrosive wax. Dealer notes they applied some anti-corrosive wax and some undercoating to a small section but did not coat ALL corrosion areas they cleaned. I had area reviewed by independent repair shop who noted the area was a concern and should be coated in the near future to prevent further corrosion and damage to frame. After discussing this w…

While trying to feel for the composite bed release button underneath the tailgate with the tailgate closed, the sharp composite bed of the truck lid sliced my finger open. The manufacture should have at least chamfered the edge of the trunk lid or installed a guard or trim piece that would prevent contact with the razor-sharp fiberglass-reinforced plastic material.

The paint on all four doors of my 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition - White Pearl is cracking at the seam where sealant is applied, with visible rust beneath. This issue began at approximately 32,000 miles, within the warranty period. The cracks have worsened over time, and I’m concerned about potential corrosion and structural weakening of the doors.
In March 2025, I reported the issue to my local Honda dealer, who confirmed the cracks and instructed me to obtain repair estimates at their body shop. By May 2025, the regional Honda rep denie…

Both Drivers and Passenger doors won't unlock or open without significant' force. This only occurs sometimes but has happened many times over the last year. I have had witnesses (son's) in the car when this happens. It seems like the door locking solenoid is holding the doors locked and both pulling the handle and tryin to flip the unlock switch are difficult. The risk here is in a crash or fire, someone without strength, won't be able to exit the vehicle. I video'd this on 27Apr24 (can provide if requested).

I am the owner of a 2026 Honda Ridgeline, which I have owned for approximately seven months. Since taking delivery, the vehicle has emitted a persistent, very strong chemical odor consistent with volatile organic compound (VOC) off-gassing. This is distinct from a mildew or air-conditioning-related odor; the smell is present throughout the cabin interior as well as in the truck bed well, and does not correlate with AC use. In an effort to resolve the issue, I have kept the vehicle parked outside (not in an enclosed garage), with the bed well le…

The automatic high beam feature in late model Honda Ridgelines presents significant safety concerns. There are two primary issues: 1. Activation Speed and Sensitivity: The auto high beams only engage when the vehicle reaches speeds above 40 mph, which is higher than many competitors. Furthermore, the system frequently toggles between high and low beams, particularly when encountering yellow road signs, leading to potential distractions for the driver and reduced visibility in critical situations. 2. Inconsistent Performance: There are instanc…

The Auto Idle Stop/Start feature has malfunctioned multiple times, leaving me stalled out at a green light in traffic. Sometimes the system hesitates to restart and shows a warning message on the dash that is too long to read for the split second that it shows, and other times it requires a full manual restart of the vehicle. The feature works to shut the engine off, but intermittently does not start back up when taking foot off the brake, and requires a few shut off instructions that are complicated to follow when sitting in a parked vehicle i…

While turning left on a snowcovered road, my passenger airbags deployed when I slid into the curb. The only damage was to my rear passenger wheel. The force to the vehicle should not have been hard enough for the airbags to deploy. No warning lights prior to the accident.

The Auto Idle Stop system in the truck has become an issue with the vehicle stalling out (sometimes) when I hold the brake pedal. I have to then put the car into Park to restart the engine. This has been a safety issue when I'm driving in heavy traffic and the truck stalls and I can't move forward with the other vehicles. I have taken my truck to the Honda dealer and they could not reproduce the issue at that time. They inspected the vehicle, confirmed the battery is fine, etc. They did mention the vehicle seemed slow to start. I have experien…

My Honda Ridgeline has experienced a dangerous malfunction involving the Auto Idle Stop system. When the vehicle comes to a stop, the system automatically shuts off the engine as designed to conserve fuel. Normally, the engine should restart when the brake pedal is released. On multiple occasions, however, the engine has failed to restart when the brake pedal is released. A warning appears on the dashboard, and the vehicle becomes difficult to restart. This has left me unexpectedly unable to move the vehicle while stopped in traffic. This cre…

On two separate instances in the past month, I have come to a complete stop, and the engine automatically shuts off. Upon restarting it either failed to restart the engine or on this last occurence turned the engine over once, made the car lurch and took a few seconds for the engine to idle, almost as if the engine wasn't fully started and the starting motor kicked off as well as turned over slowly. The vehicle has 24,000miles and the batery is approximatley 15 months old and OEM.

Car just shut off while I was driving. There was no power. It would not start. At first it sounded like it wanted to start and then it just made no sound at all. The brake was hard as well. I put the hazards on but was in the fast lane on Cleveland Avenue in Fort Myers. I believe there are traffic cameras that will show the car sitting while cars were trying to get through the traffic light. The car finally started however I have no idea why it happened. We could have been killed sitting in the fast lane of a three lane road. There were three …
