2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid. This incident has occurred twice at the time of this write up. On at least one occasion it had rained during the night before using the vehicle. It may have been damp on the other occasion as well. This vehicle hesitates to a dangerous degree when trying to accelerate from a stop or rolling stop. When pressure is applied to the gas pedal, the vehicle will not accelerate until nearly a whole second later. This delay in response has created dangerous situations where merging onto a road in a predictable and smooth manner is crucial (i.e. turning right at a red light, a 4-way stop). Unfortunately, I have to wear darker sunglasses due to previous eye surgery. I am unable to utilize cruise control without compromise to my eyes because forward collision avoidance doesn’t work with darker glasses. Forward attention warning camera continues to malfunction stating camera is obscured even when not. If cruise is allowed to be engaged the camera will randomly decide it doesn’t detect your face and will hard brake to stop the car. This has happened multiple times to me, narrowly avoiding collision from behind. Hyundai refuses to address the issue because their technicians can’t duplicate the issue so they state the car is safe to drive. Camera becomes hot to the touch much like an overheating cell phone. I was driving on the highway when my car all of a sudden started to beep and told me it was activating the emergency brake. I was driving safely and was not at risk of a collision. Since I have had the car, five months, there have been THREE INCIDENTS of the car braking to a stop suddenly and unexpectedly while I am driving. At no time were there other cars near me; I was not in danger of hitting anything or anyone as the road was clear. The stops were jarring and upsetting as I could not discern a reason for these sudden stops. I feel it is very dangerous to stop in the middle of the street without warning.

If I wear dark sunglasses, the forward collision avoidance turns off while using cruise control. If I wear lighter sunglasses, it is fine. Unfortunately, I have to wear darker sunglasses due to previous eye surgery. I am unable to utilize cruise control without compromise to my eyes because forward collision avoidance doesn’t work with darker glasses. The vehicle has suffered a catastrophic structural manufacturing defect involving a transmission case half seal failure. The transmission is actively seeping/leaking fluid directly from the factory-mated case assembly line seal. This presents a severe, progressive safety hazard. Transmission fluid leaking from the case half migrates along the underbody of the vehicle and directly coats hot exhaust and powertrain components during highway operation. This creates an immediate risk of under-hood smoke, thermal degradation, component stalling, or a…

Our vehicle continues to experience loss of power driving , on cold days below freezing. When driving normally this hybrid vehicle will be in hybrid mode at a stop, then when accelerating, the ICE engine will not start to assist the hybrid, causing a bare minimum of power to be available, just enough to pull over. On several occasions this has led to very near rear end collisions from the driver's behind. So far I've been able to avoid injury, as I recognize the condition and am hyper attentive to its possible happening. The vehicle handed sh…
