Simultaneously, the Check Engine Light illuminated on the dashboard. While driving, the vehicle experienced a sudden and unsafe loss of propulsion power when attempting to drive uphill. This sudden drop in power created a hazardou…

Automatic Emergency Braking deployed without any external threat. I was driving 55 mph on the freeway and the automatic emergency braking engaged. The dash lights flashes, there was an audible alarm and the car braked. There was no danger in front of the vehicle and this action put me at risk of being hit from the rear by the car behind me. My safety was put at risk as my acceleration was greatly diminished compared to the traffic around me. There was no warning of the problem prior to the failure. It has not been confirmed by the dealer.

Turned car off and drove a few hours later and seemed to be back to normal. DTC cleared after a few days. Dealer unable to check for a month. Have dashcam footage of last incident.

While accelerating on an on ramp leading to the interstate, the 2022 Hyundai Tucson PHEV Limited was in the Smart Drive Mode and the vehicle was in Electric Mode only being powered by the electric motor. I noticed that the vehicle was struggling to accelerate to the interstate speed of 70 MPH, I pressed the accelerator further in order to gain more speed to safely merge onto the interstate.
